So with the recent announcement this book is moving from hot to radioactive. Thankfully, I picked up a CGC 9.6 for about $400 a few years ago.


My dilemma is whether to crack it open and send it for pressing and regrading in the hope it will step up to a 9.8.


Would you do it if in my shoes?

In our constant pursuit to improve the site and grow our data, we've added a new field, characters. Everything will be linked together so you can dig down into the data. When finished you can look up a character like Damian Wayne (Robin) or Damian Wayne (Batman). You will be able to see all issues they are in like Teen Titans or Super Sons. If you click on a title you can see all appearances in that book and all the books that you own. The possibilities are endless.

My copy appears to missing a page or two, at the end. There are no creators listed and the story abruptly ends. Anybody else notice this?

you can try searching on comics.org, as you can mark 'story' as part of the search (like 'peter parker marries' or peter parker marriage' etc), then paw thru the results to see if any have covers that deal with that. also, google images search for peter parker marries or marriage covers.

A lot of people comment on hot comics and you never know what it's based on. We did a thing here at CPG. For a long time we've been tracking how many times a book is searched for and specifically looked at. Now, I'm making a few of those stats available to see if anyone is interested in them.

Can you guess what is the most searched for comic book of 2020?
What about the top 5 books in the last 5 years?
What about the highest rising books on our search list?

I broke them down into 3 groups because that best suited the data in my mind.

Comics that broke into the top 250 searches or rose dramatically - i.e. Savage She-Hulk 1
New books that garnered tons of attention - i.e. Batman 89
Reliable books that are always in the top of the list - i.e. Amazing Spider-man 300

If I give you only the top 25 you cannot see some of the books coming up or some of the hot new books. The basic list isn't very clean. For example, we have been working toward adding all the direct and newsstand issues into the site. That means that older search data is different from 2020 search data. Instead of one ASM 300 getting 1000 views, now Direct gets 700 and Newsstand might get 400.


Let me see what I can come up with to help people understand this better for future blog posts.

DC NATION is a promotional mag, not a comic, so they won't be listed. DC Nation #0 is listed with a bunch of variant covers, as it had '3 all new stories'. You can submit the Big Planet Comics Variant yourself you know.

DC Previews is also not a comic, just an order book, so you can delete those posts too.

And in the future, please don't make separate posts for single issues of the same thing, thanks.

We've had someone (Scott) working on adding UPC codes for several weeks now. Plus some of you have been adding UPC codes, which is wildly helpful. Thanks. Most of Scott's work has been on modern titles, especially those still in publication. We did this so that when you add a new book you could do it with the scanner.

For those of you using the app and the barcode scanner, are you finding what you're looking for?

We want to know how we are doing and are you finding it helpful?

From the backend we can see that over 10,000 issues were added to members collections on Saturday and almost 13,000 issues on Sunday. Which is a lot. The forced quarantine is definitely helping people organize their collections.

I fixed that UPC code and checked the rest of them in the series. They are all correct now. Feel free to scan away.
