I did a search using the term "What if" and found it immediately as well (image attached)

Are other searches completing for you? Did you change the country on accident?

Question about quantity option

We opted to remove the quantity option because most members track all details of each individual issue. For example, you may own 5 copies of Chew #1, but one is a 9.4, one is a 9.2, a 5.0, etc.

This is also important for sales listings because you can have users make offers on each individual copy of your book and they get exactly what the listing says, but if they buy one of 30, the condition is unlikely to have been properly tracked.

We can add quantity back if members think it's useful to do both methods.

The scrolling ticker from the front page? Down for some maintenance. We'll return it once we optimize it.

Didn't see any links for this on the profile page... So there's no 'forum settings' page yet? Will there be? Like for time zone, blocking users/messages, even getting private messages, format/theme etc.? No big deal, just wondering.

Also you should maybe list some more things in the 1st post that have changed, or are not offered yet but will be etc.. I see we can now log in with our 'usual' CPG login vs having a separate forum login. That's kinda buried in the 1st post.

I did finally find that clicking on a member's name and getting to their actual profile page you can message them thru the 'Message Me' link over on the right, but will there be icons for that ON the forum posts again? Not that I hardly ever use it, but handy when needed.

Thanks, glad you got the forums back up. No announcement on the home page though? Nothing under Latest News and Notes (I see it under Latest Forums posts sorta, but should be a message at the top of the page), blog link doesn't work, nothing on the 404 pages for the old forum URLs to note there's a new forum? Have fun...

Great suggestions here. I'll see if we can add some of them. We also did add a big announcement to the home page smile

Blogs are the next thing we gotta fix. All old forum pages should redirect here automatically now.

There are definitely some forum settings, but it seems we may have buried the link. I'll track that down

You sure can! When logged in, you can click the "My Display Case" link which is the link to your profile, which contains all of your collection details for other members to browse.

Also, here's a video about selling that may give you some tips and tricks.

RAW means the book in its natural form without any sort of certification. GRADED books are certified by a third-party grading company (like CBCS), and usually slabbed in a hard plastic case that effectively "locks" in the books condition. Of course, you can't read it that way, so grading is usually only done for high value books that you want to preserve, not read smile

Yep! Thats the one. They can then browse to the "Full Collection" tab to see everything.

If you want to highlight a few of your books, you can add them to your "Display Case" (the first tab) by uploading your own custom cover for the book.

The usernames here are the same as the usernames for CPG, so if anyone had two different names, they would have swapped.

Some of the old members are still slowly finding out the boards are back. They were down for awhile upset

Your want list?

Sign in, click the menu at the top right. Select "Want List" tab and the "Print Want List" button is there.

Should I use this valuation with a pinch of salt, or is it a more reliable basis to work off?

Price guides are always the latter. At the end of the day, a comic book is worth only as much as someone will give you for it. We could list a book for $5, but you could happen upon a serious collector and the book you have is the only book missing in his collection. So he offers you $200 just to make sure he gets the last book. Does this mean the book you sold was actually worth $200 in the open market?

No... it's probably, on average, still going to sell for $5.

Use what you find here as a starting point for negotiations and adjust based on the situation you're in. A dealer is almost always going to offer you less, a super fan probably more, and private collectors always in-between. smile

We have a lot of members who sell almost daily on CPG. Just make sure you have your own internal process for tracking shipping and make sure you use a payment processor like PayPal which gives you certain protections (NEVER MONEY ORDERS!) and you can find all sorts of buyers here smile
