Been lazy the last couple of months, so I'm getting April in early.
Either I've slowed down or my existing collection hasn't made any jumps recently.
$4,000 difference over 2 months is low for me considering how many new issues I buy along with my back issues.
I guess I need to purchase a key or two this month.

As #11 on the list, having graded and entered every single book I own into 2 databases, I think there should be a reward for taking the time to do so. Due to books in my
collection, I'm pretty sure I'd be #2 if all my comics were listed as 9.4. Yes, this is for fun, but it takes a lot of time grading each book of a collection, especially if you start
off with about 12,000 like I did. Give the lazy members their own list if they don't want to grade their books. |

What ox is saying is that you can say a book is "worth" whatever you want, but the price it sells at determines the actual value. Rarity of an item doesn't matter if nobody wants it. There must be a paying customer. |

Suggestions for new reads.

Maybe this will help a little bit with your reading; Unless you go back to issue 1 of the first volume of a character (or whenever they appeared regularly in a book), you will always be coming into the story "in the middle". Even when Marvel or DC release all new #1's, the previous editions still have an effect on the character at some point as the story progresses. The easiest and most fulfilling way to read back issues is to learn what some of the classic stories are and read them. For many years, Marvel included notes in every issue when talking about past events, such as what issues they happened in and other info. For me, that always made me want to read the issues being referenced. It also has always been reassuring to me knowing that there are so many other stories I could read. Instead, people today seem to look at the back issues like they're a chore instead of more good comics to read. You just need to change your mindset a little bit. |

I'm pretty sure it was either Avengers 130 or Amazing Spider-Man 139. I vividly remember laying on my stomach in our front yard reading that Avengers book, but I also remember getting the ASM 139 off the rack. What I loved about those days is that just about every boy my age had comics and would trade. Also when I got my $5 allowance and was dragged out shopping with my Mom, I could buy a stack of new comics and have money left over. There was a comic rack at most drugstores and grocery stores back then, and most malls usually had one of those, and there were plenty of times I would read comics while Mom shopped elsewhere. I remember reading Hulk 180 at the grocery store while Mom was going up and down the aisles, and I was blown away by a cool looking new character in the very last panel, Wolverine. I was so excited I that I found Mom and showed her this awesome new character, yet she was unenthusiastic about it. Old people, I swear. |
