Funnily enough, I know that Overstreet lists Longshot much higher than CPG does. I had duplicates of the entire series, so I decided to sell them as a whole series for $25 in high grade (9.2 give or take) as a compromise price.. They sold before the show even opened. I mean, I was still setting up my table when another dealer came by and bought them. So... yeah... definitely primed to go up.
That's awesome Doug, There's not much Longshot Australian eBay. CPG has them at $4 each, What does Overstreet have them at Doug? I know there are a million & 1 copies of them out there but most i've seen over the years are in terrible shape. I only have one NM set, Had an extra $30 bucks about a year & half ago. I asked a reg. seller what he had for that price...after some not so fun choices i gave up & just then he said Longshot...after a pause i said o.k. i'll take it. Even he noted they getting harder to find in NM now.
Overstreet has #1 at $30 in NM and the rest at $15. So, big discrepancy. Not sure who's closer, but if someone wants to pay me $30 for #1, I am happy to take it. My big worry was that someone would go and buy #1 only and the rest of the series wouldn't sell. There are indeed a ton of almost everything X-Men out there, so I'm always a bit worried when I see such a price discrepancy. Seems like dealers want them if they don't have them, but don't want to get caught holding a ton of copies.
I'm guessing I lucked out in finding 2 complete sets of the mini-series in recent collection buys, if your experience is anything to go by.
Whoa! i did good then Lol. I'm seeing VF set's sell for around $30 but to be honest i haven't seen a solid NM set in ages (well here in Australia anyway) so maybe Overstreet does have it right.
My thoughts exactly, Mojo himself didn't appear till issue #3. tis' a shame that they may be split up.
There's so much going for the set. #1: first Art Adams work in comics, First Longshot & Spiral, First Mojoverse & Mojoworld. #2: first Hitch (director) #3: first Mojo. #4: first Major Domo. There are a ton of villains & other supporting characters throughout the series. Great set to have. The 90's X-Men cartoons are an awesome watch to get the idea of the whole thing & the tech addicted world we live in today fits well with the Mojoverse. Bring on a movie, Oh yeah! edited by Gilgandra on 3/21/2016 |

I overpaid for these, but that does not make them any less cool.
Here’s the way comics used to grab your attention back in the day – without sex or violence! Imagine that!
Nobody Leaves!
Okay, there was violence, - but it took place previously and not shown.
(Yeah, offstage like in Shakespeare! Anyone ever heard of that guy? Anyone but me know their classics? Anyone at all ??? Anyway, he a was pretty good writer…)
There is a backup story of Jason Bard, hardboiled detective.
(Not to be confused with all the detective shows on TV at the time. Riiiiggghhht )
Here’s another one…
Careful Batman that guy (or girl?) in the mist might be looking to do you harm!
Anyway enjoy, and leave your comment here….

Well i thought i'd do some serious research for myself...That i can ascertain my copy is a 3rd print May 1990 (although it says 1st print in the indica) This info came from ISBN search.org http://www.isbnsearch.org/isbn/0871356163 showing the wrong cover (possible 3rd print)
Then i looked up on eBay, Discovered a red box copy in the states, Zoomed in on the label & to my surprise it has the same ISBN # as mine. Well they are both 1st print & it has a variant coloured price box. http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Spider-Man-vs-Venom-by-Michelinei-McFarlane-1st-Print-TPB-1990-Marvel-Comics-/181723862655?hash=item2a4f96167f:g:9S0AAOSwv0tVN4aA
Maybe someone may know more on it's history. Please CPG could you add this white price box to the Database as a 1st print variant, Thank you. |
