Can anyone help figure out something, A friend that passed away had given me some amazing Spider Man comic books that say they are Spider-Man collectible Series. What I do not understand is there are dates like Dec. 7 1963 on the front cover and it also has Not For Sale in the bottom right hand corner and on the back of the book there is an ad for direct tv with some dates stating dates of 10/2006 to 2/2007 Can anyone tell me what I have ?

I came across over 200 comics and I'm trying to determine the value of a handful of them, one of the comics I have is #3 Mavericks. I know the value of the issue it's self isn't crazy but it is signed by Chad hunt, in sharpie on the cover can anyone help me figure out the value of this comic?

Close to worthless. He's the inker, but there are no large number of people collecting his autograph. Autographs can be forged, so the comic is likely worth less than if it had no writing on the cover.

So if you've got a bunch of comics, and most are forgettable at best, do you still compile the entire list when sending them off to someone to purchase? Or do you show a 'sampling'? Most of these sites ask for an excel file with the comics sorted by character and then list issue numbers...I'm wondering if I should really include all 87 issues of Groo in there with my Adventure Into Fear...hahahaha! Any advice is appreciated!

You really should. A store may have a Groo collector that is frustrated because they have none. A store is going to look at your collection and decide how much they can sell immediately before making an offer.

I'm an eBay seller dealing in varied merchandise. I just bought a lot of about 75 comics for purposes of reselling. I know very little about collecting comics, despite the fact that some names you'd know are (were) personal friends of mine! I've made a list and guestimated raw pricing based on your price guide. Most are under $4 but a few are valuable. I'd prefer not to do all the work of entering these into your database and then listing them for sale, since I'm already going to list on eBay. Is there a simple way to just upload a PDF file of the list I have for interested parties to peruse? I'm fine with buying a 1 or 2-month membership, but after that, I'm not going to make my investment back. Thanks!

Start at the top CPG menu - Select "About" then in pull down menu select "How to Use CPG" . This is where to start.

When you are comfortable enough using CPG it is fairly easy to look up comics and titles. Remember in the search engine the less you put in the more results you will likely get.

My opinion is you just have to dig in and learn along the way!

How do I know what shipping will be upfront? If the seller asks for an exorbitant shipping price, can I cancel, and will it impact my ratings at all? Also, if I pay and never receive the item, what sort of recourse do I have? Thanks in advance. (PS...I watched the tutorials and see nothing that explains my questions)

Wrap up what you plan to ship in shipping package. Take to Post Office (or UPS). Ask about options for shipping. Ask them to weight and give you a prices for each option. Provide price to buyer.

Shipping packaging and pricing options can be confusing at first - a little research on US Post Office website and questions in person - you will figure it out. This make take a few times of trial and error - but you have to figure out what works. Check what people are shipping for on eBay. This is a clue as to your total cost of shipping for a similar item.

I think he was asking about shipping cost as a BUYER. Contact the seller beforehand thru the messaging system (good luck getting a reply), and give them your zip code so they can figure the shipping costs. If they're too high you can just pass or maybe negotiate. It won't impact your rating here. If you don't get your item and you paid by credit card with paypal or directly, you file for a refund with them. If you paid by check or money order, you file a fraud claim with the Post Office or your Attorney General's office. That's why there's laws. CPG won't intervene and can do nothing about it except delete the fraudster's membership, which is stated in the first post. Good luck.

DO NOT!! I repeat DO NOT ship media mail rates. I did that, they ran over the package with a truck, I have pictures of the envelope, the contents were gone and guess what? We're not responsible, it carries no insurance" How do I start a business like that?
Make sure it is insured !

Shipping can be an adventure - not in a good way. There is always the possibility of damage no matter what way you ship. Insurance is a risk/reward thing. I am going to pay $5 for $100 of insurance on $10 of comics??? Probably not. For $50 of comics? Yes, likely.

You have be be willing to take the loss or put aside a few $$$ from every sale to self-insure.I disagree with Skippy on Media Mail - but you can read the rules and make your own choice. Thanks Skiiippppyyyyyy!!!!!

I'd like to start selling some of my comics on here, but I'm not a professional grader and I'm not sure exactly what to put for conditions. The last thing I want is to have unhappy buyers and have to have comics returned because they didn't feel I graded them correctly. Any suggestions?
