I have a large collection of Warren magazines, most are 6.0 or better condition , I have creepys, eeries and vampirellas, how do I add photos to my listings? Do you sell by using PayPal as your payment, I've used eBay before , but new to selling on this site. thanks for any advice I can get thanks If you're a paying member you can upload your own pics for your comics for sale (not too huge and they will be resized anyway), or you can use CPG's pics and they will note 'not user's image' or something in the listing. There's a feature/field for pics for when you mark stuff for sale (I don't sell here so not 100% sure what all is involved there).
you can take any kind of payment you and the buyer agree to, as payment does not go thru CPG and they take no fees or commission.

Hi
Great Site
I have a childhood set of comics from the late 60's and early 70's, many that appear valuable although a lot not in the #1 9/10.0 shape, some with pencil marks on the covers. They had been packed away for years, then around 2000 I packed them all in plastic. I had been the only reader.
If you guys can I need some quick advice. I need to sell these now and was wondering what is the absolute best way to accomplish this? Should I take them to a dealer, send a list to Storage Wars star Rene Nezhoda (he said he would take a look), or try to list them here, or elsewhere?
Thank You for your help

It's all about time vs. money.
A dealer will pay you quickly but for a fraction of the value. This number depends on the trustworthiness of the dealer and their profit margin. Some might pay you 50%- 30% for key issues while some will treat you poorly.
You can sell them yourself on Ebay or here and earn more money but it will take time and effort.

Hi there, new to the site and looking to downsize my collection. I'm curious to know if it is worth getting comics graded by a third party. I'm still relatively new to selling so not sure what the pros and cons are (mostly from a cost point of view).

Comicbookman916, If you are a paying member you can sell here with no other fees. That is the best deal in the comic book world. Here is a video that will walk you through it. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wFUmGlqrKWY
If you want to sell your entire collection go to this link and Quality comics will make you an offer on what they are interested in. https://comicspriceguide.com/sendoff
Blooms, On the site, you can see raw and graded prices. Let me show you an example of the best practices for whether you should grade or not. Look at Tomb of Dracula 1 https://comicspriceguide.com/titles/tomb-of-dracula/1/pipy Click on the Values tab. Notice that the graded price is always higher for this specific book but you need to consider the grading costs as well. For CBCS the grading cost for this book is $40 so everything above a 2.5 is worth grading. On another book the lowest grade that you should send off could be dramatically different. Look at Tomb of Dracula 60 which has no first appearances or special things about it. https://comicspriceguide.com/titles/tomb-of-dracula/60/wbxrb For this book, everything below a 4.0 is the same value with raw or graded. Since it's a newer book the cost of grading is $24 it's not worth grading with anything below a 9.0. I hope this helps, Ron

Ronbatman, how long does it take for Quality comics to get back to you? I sent them my collection list about two weeks ago and I haven’t heard anything back yet. I only have 74 comics on it.

Usually, they are very quick to get back to you. If I were you I would follow-up with them. Ron

Hi,
We are selling a ton of comic books. Rare ones. Vintage ones. Hard to find ones. Bulk lots, you name it we're selling it. We've been doing this on ebay, through fixed price and also auction listings. We basically use CPG as a means for determining price range, though we do research other guides, gocollect for example, and we reference ebay sold listings as well. We also assess the market based upon new films coming out, tv shows or general comic books buzz. We watch a lot of Youtube on the comic book marketplace, etc....
How do we sell on this site?
Is it okay to reference and list our ebay store as the place where the transaction actually takes place? Even to post URL links, etc to our ebay store? Or is that a no no, for the rules of this site?
Does this site handle any of the financial transactions between members? Or is it simply a forum for communication between members?
If we list a rare book, for example Batman 251 on ebay, if we list it for sale here on CPG are we listing it in two different places and confusion could occur with people thinking we have 2 copies? Do you know what we mean, we don't want to inadvertently sell the same book twice!
So we're trying to get our heads around how to use CPG as another means to drive our sales up. But not sure how to do that, and what we're allowed to do exactly without violating CPG's rules.
Also, how would we keep our ebay inventory in sync with the items we post on CPG as for sale? Would this be a strictly manual process? Or is there some slick way to like upload an Excel, and mass delete listings if needed, etc..?
Thanks for your help, we know this is probably a lot of questions. Wasn't sure where to inquire about these things.
Cheers,
Jacky Faber

To sell on the site you would need to be a paying member. That is the only fees we have related to selling. Thus we don't get involved in the financial transaction, we connect the two parties involved. Here are our training videos, one is on selling. https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PL3eOHtGDGIs0GGohUDuypf3TlQM2aupdo
Some sellers have listed books on eBay and ComicsPriceGuide but you need to be diligent. If a book is sold, it should never be here.
In the auction forum you can put a link to your auctions.
We don't have a way to replicate your ebay listings here but you can enter books for sale faster here than on eBay. There are sellers who only sell here and make a living because of our no fee policy. (that is always subject to change but it's been in place for years) Ron

Under the "Marketplace" I see "Market Watch", "Comic Auctions", and "Want List". None of these seem appropriate for posting a notice of comics that I've listed on CPG for sale. Am I missing something?

Am I missing something? that post from Shadow is old and out of date. CPG tried a marketplace forum a while back, apparently it was so dead they removed it, so there is no marketplace forum now. You can use the classifieds, https://comicspriceguide.com/classifieds , otherwise if you have a paid membership you just mark your books for sale and hope someone looks them up to buy. I was told once that you can post on the Auction forum for direct sales too, not sure if that's still correct.

I have about 225 Golden & Silver age comics to sell. Been busy compiling a list and not quite done yet.
Anyone have any thoughts about Heritage Auctions? OR Quality Comics? I am sure I could sell individuals, but I am less sure that someone should trust a noob's valuations... Although I can read the code like anyone and do my level best to be objective. Perhaps better to go with the whole collection approach? They're not even boarded and bagged yet, is that important to do before shipping?
Ugh, so many questions. Thanks in advance to anyone replying.

If it's all silver/golden age, and not super valuable books/keys, I'd check out mycomicshop.com They have a pretty good consignment system and a large audience.
if it is super valuable stuff, Heritage is certainly a good option, I'm not sure what their cut is though.

Thanks for the reply! You'd be amazed what some of the old walt disney stuff and other 50's oddballs go for... like dagwood and classics illustrated and the lone ranger and promo comics from stores... and so on... I've discovered it is probably 90% golden age. The key is finding that audience and I've no clue, probably atypical collectors. I will check out mycomicshop.com for sure!

On another note, putting them up for sale here may not be a bad option either. Lots of collectors on here, and some pretty serious ones. Plus, far less of your profit taken from you if you do make a sale (and by far less I mean, none).
