No Title Given While Mister Miracle is trying to recover from his most recent injuries, Lightray enters their apartment. Barda, as only she can, strongly encourages Lightray to leave. Scott gets out of bed, gets dressed and shows up in the doorway.
Lightray announces that General Free is now considered an agent of Darkseid and must face trial or execution. Barda smacks Lightray to the ground as Scott answers, “Trial”. Lightray continues with the plans for Scott’s treason trial. Barda’s had enough and pummels Lightray.
As Barda and Scott watch a late night talk show they discuss the trial.
The next day Scott performs another escape act then later at their apartment Orion shows up for the trial. Orion says that he as the new Highfather gets to choose the accuser, defender and judge. He chooses himself for all positions because of his wisdom. Scott isn’t taking this entirely serious as he gets a carrot from the veggie tray.
Orion believes that every answer that Scott gives should be true or false. There is no middle ground on Scott Free’s answer. He believes that this will determine if Darkseid is manipulating Mister Miracle through the anti-life equation. Through a series of questions Orion is able to trap Scott and portray him as Darkseid’s tool.
Orion keeps insisting that Scott call him Highfather. In a weird twist Scott says, “My name is not Scott Free.” That name was given to him by Granny when he would try to run away. In fact, he doesn’t even know his real name.
In Scott’s current mental state, he hates everything and Orion, I mean Highfather, uses that against him. When the line of questioning comes to an end Mister Miracle was asked if he was the anti-life equation. Instead of answering, he punches Orion in the face and then falls into Barda’s arms crying. Shocked Orion sits on the floor for a moment, grabs a carrot from the vegetable tray and then says show up in three days so I can kill you.
As everyone leaves, Barda cradles Scott and he says, “I can’t”.
