A new way to list?

As an alternative - you can download each publisher a in spreadsheet format. You sort this spreadsheet to list most valuable comics first. So you can list most valuable comics by publisher.

You can (manually) combine your individual publisher spreadsheets into one spreadsheet - they you can manipulate the list any way you want.

Another alternative - if you upload scans of your comics, the most expensive 12 comics (that have uploads ONLY) come up in your display window. Mine is here.

Really - you can already do this... just IMHO

1998 Marvel Annuals

The X-Men comic you are looking is here
http://comicspriceguide.com/collection/marvel/x-men/1998/pjxvnp

Just look under the X-men title (the 1991 series). Then hit the annual tab.

Should be the same with X-Man. Just look for the series, then the "annuals" tab.
Instead of numbering the annuals 1,2,3... they numbered with the year. What a gimmick!

The additional character - while on the cover - is not in the actual title of the comic.

Yes, for reasons know only to computer geeks, the search works only without special characters.

Signing: value or destruction?

Hello - I saw a post somewhere recently where people were scrambling to put together enough money to get as many books as possible signed by Stan Lee or whoever... Sometimes not even anyone who actually worked on that particular comic. What I'm wondering is... Other than for people who really want Stan to sign their 9.4 Strange Tales 110 (ouch!!), what is the appeal here? Doesn't having a name scrawled across a book destroy the value for the most part? Is this an investment, is what I'm asking, because it seems to me that it is not, and it's possible that the trend will die off, leaving people with books reduced several grades for 'autographs' .. And the rest of the world has one less Strange Tales 110 as an appealing option. (By the way, I get it if you love the artist and you are doing it for you... I got an X-Men 108 signed by Byrne as a kid and I'm ok with it because of the personal experience.)

Would you get a baseball player to sign a sheet of paper of a baseball card?
Really boils down to your choice. I like signed comics. Add creator's personal touch to finished work.

I just bought 6 comics from a seller for a total of $24. I gave him my PayPal email for him to send an invoice, and I sent the payment to him. I'm somewhat skeptical of sellers since this is my first purchase on here, but his profile says that he's been a member since 2003 and his member rank is 3. Do I have anything to worry about?

Been adding a few back issues to fill in some holes in my FF run.

Fantastic Four 24, 32, 35(higher grade replacement), 57, 67, 97, 111(filler), 118, 196.

I also picked up a better copy of Silver Surfer #4. My first copy of this book is completely coverless. The new one has a nice front cover attached, missing back cover. I may get a complete copy one day lol.

Have I mentioned lately how much I hate you?
Just kidding - hope you get the ones you're missing.
And if you get an extra FF #63 - send it to me. Wicked cool cover.

I means for every 25 issues with the regular cover, there is one issue with the alternate cover.
It is a measure of the quantity of issues with that cover compared to regular cover.

I agree with Ox. This may be the pre Deadpool movie price. Price usually comes down after the movie is out for a while. CPG may not yet have corrected.

I suggest you always check other sources on comics over a couple of bucks. Other sides like mycomicshop.com have more trendy prices.

In the admin's defense, they are trying to keep a guide price to almost 1 million comic book issues (and every condition of those issues). So you will find obscure comics, but they are not quick to jump on trends.

Do they ship to the UK? Can't seem to find if they do on their website.

Friends

If I might offer a shameless plug, You should buy from me here on CPG and forget eBay.
http://comicspriceguide.com/cpg-member/kds_comics

Okay - I am up to any offer at about 70% - 75% of guide price or so and I will ship to the UK.
Not a shop and I have only a few thousand comics - so I don't have everything - but I have a good selection of 1970's comics and plenty of issues from last ten years I bought new that are in great condition - mostly DC.

Heck, I will and have shipped to Australia!

Plus I have money back guarantee - try finding that on eBay.

No comments on my war comics? rather proud of them, even if they are in low grade.

How about some old TV shows?
Not the Andy Griffith version, but this was a TV show.

Anyone remember this one from the 1970s? Surprised it is not in syndication.

If I can mix in a comic related movie...

Saved the best for last. They really do NOT make comics like this anymore...

There is a plot underfoot - a cemetery plot! I crack me up.

I know you are probably tired of hearing about the old days - but the old forum did have a feature to show the last post first. Any possibility of adding this feature?

I will let you pick the reason
a) I am too lazy to find the bottom post.
b) My network system is slow loading
c) Work computer treats all links as viruses, so forum is reeeeeeeeeeeeally slow at work. (Not that I access CPG forum from work, mind you.)
d) My dog keeps pressing the keys on my keyboard when I try to read the forum.
e) All of the above

My two cents worth for today...wink

MAN FROM U.N.C.L.E. 3 VG+ | MAN FROM U.N.C.L.E. 4 VG+ | MAN FROM U.N.C.L.E. 5 VG+ ($8.00)

MAN FROM U.N.C.L.E. 7 VG+ | MAN FROM U.N.C.L.E. 8 FN | MAN FROM U.N.C.L.E. 10 VG+

"Man from Uncle" comics for about $5 each - I'd hit that. Very cool.
Also like you Amazing Spider-Man comic.
On the minus side - I have a number of Atlas -Seaboard comic myself - including Iron Jaw.
Just does not seem to be much value in these.

Lots of cool books. What I don't have, I want.

What is the deal with the pic sizes? I can see the full size of TDC in the reply box, and below in the previous messages the pics are also larger. Is just with photobucket? Has anyone tried using flickr?

I think it is just photobucket. CPG pulls from photbucket and crops to fit. Better than when the picture was pouring out the right side of the panel. Okay all - Hit "Reply" to any message above with a picture in it and you will see a bigger picture.
It's a feature.

I've noticed as of late a lot of key issues are just being sold for flat out way under market value....for instance,I have a new 52 batman #1 graded at 9.6. Value shows about $600. Now I'm not unrealistic in thinking I'm getting that but myself and people posting these books for 2-300 are not out of line I.m.o.

But you have people taking $120 for a 9.6 on eBay ?????

C'mon man!!! I.m.o. You have people who bought it and need the money quick. But that's a very nice issue!!! Why would you sell it under those terms??? That book will go nowhere but up!! This is not a hobby where you're gonna get rich quickly...and shouldn't be approached that way,if you're buying a book as an investment... Be prepared to sit on it.

Just my opinion to add to what Ox said.

Comics are not a good way to make money quick. Market fluctuations make some old book that had been in dollar boxes at dealers across the country (e.g Suicide Squad #1) now worth $50 and up. But you had to wait over 25 years for this to happen.

If you want to make money, a good stock trading program with some education on your part will get you a better return than comics will. Still not quick, but you can make money in months rather than years. Just one suggestion.

If you want to be a dealer, buy stuff very cheap - comics and what ever else you can find - and sell at local flea market or comics show. I sell at shows occasionally and it still takes some business savvy and a whole lot of work to make a few dollars. It is very had to make money this way - a lot of work and you still may loose. I believe that is why few folks do it.

IMHO

You can get a free membership at CPG and look up the value.

There are other guides online as well.
Or look up any large retail sales site like mycomicshop - value will be reasonable
