Hey Robo!...Where you being sir!
I've been around. I tried to check in at the old forums a few times over the past 6 months or so to see if they had come back. I had tried the forums link on here, as well, but it was not up yet, I suppose. I was a bit surprised when it worked the other day.
Glad to see the boards are back.
Yeah i've been a little quite myself. No backs issues to mention for months now. Just new stuff! (what the wallet can afford Lol). Been helping out Tex over at his blog with some new book reviews although i haven't done one of them in a while either...Need to get back on the band wagon!
Hey. It's you guys
I've haven't been doing much either.
Last LCS trip I got only one funny book

Look at that spine roll. The tears are small, no marks, no tape, no missing pieces, nice colors. I'd call it a solid 3.0... Wanna see the front?

1st Vulture; soon to be played by Michael Keaton. Neat huh? A nice looking lower grade. |

From Birdman to the Vulture, not much of a stretch for Keaton!😉 And he was the first gritty Batman. So ASM#2 now counts as a Batbook
Sometimes Vulture has a thing with Aunt May. In MCU they're still about the same age... |

Nice pick up Robbie ASM #2 wow (spine roll or not that's awesome).
Thanks. Geez, this forum is slow and crashes a lot...
Early Spidey has bunches of keys. Ditko & JR just liked creating new bad guys. |

Took me multiple tries to post this
After 6 or so "Can't reach this page" messages, I'm done for the day. |

Issues selling too cheap online.

In the example above, people aren't buying the "comic", they are buying the plastic case. Right? That's where most the value is...
But that's new comics. There's always been collectors working on new series. Problem is; they don't stay new for long. Lots of competition in that space. Once a comic is old, it stays that way. |

10 cent Supergirl. Swell pickup Nice Marvel finds, I'd buy those semi-keys all day at those prices. |

Pence vs. Cents

Most of my pence issues I also have a US version. US is the "real" one, UK is the "variant" cover with a much smaller print run. Printed at the same time with the same inner pages.
I think variant covers are neat, but I don't want to pay crazy prices. |

Those 80s indy horror comics are great reads. Someday they'll be rediscovered and shoot up in value. non-code color comics. Complete stories in one issue. Xen. Tales has some wonderful art. edited by Robbie on 7/29/2016 |

Future State of the Comic Market: Gold/Silver Age

I wonder how much more the key / non-spread will continue to grow?
I think, some of the old forgotten comics will continue to stay flat. Any gold or silver that gets worldwide attention could see a spike. |

Hey Defiant, nice early EC books. Land of the Lost is an okay read; much better than the radio show it's based on. |

Login getting cleared is a security thing. Doing your browers setings wrong can do that. But in this case, I'd suspect the site was misbehaving. |

It stops high end dealers from snubbing their noses at me. The cash out of pocket for the AF #15 was only about $300. I bought Valiant comics in the 90's around the time they came out and traded my duplicates. The dealer who did the trade made money too. edited by Defiant1 on 1/2/2017 Well played, sir
That would make it hard to pay today's prices for later issues. Nobody wants a 1st Punisher for more than they paid for 1st Spidey. |

Exactly! When I see Hulk #181 going for large sums, I just remember paying cover price. There is not a lot of incentive for me to buy 70's & up comics at expensive prices now when I've been passing them over this long at a much lower price. I'm more interested in rarities or things I've never seen before.
There are plenty of rarities; they make having a wantlist or complete set pretty confusing. |
