Hi All,
I'd like to pose a couple of general questions regarding the comic book market.
Are we at the upper echelon of comic prices regarding Golden age and Silver age comics or is there still room to go higher?
Are golden age and silver age comics (for the long term) going to increase in value? What I mean is that; is the general trend for gold and silver age comics (over several decades) an upward trend?
I'm interested in what the community thinks about the long term values of gold and silver age comics. I know over short term time frames comics will fluctuate in value. I'm asking about the long term.
I understand no one can predict the future. I'm just curious as to what the community thinks regarding long term values of gold and silver age comics.

There's probably room to grow for some of the keys, and definitely for the average issue, but the higher prices go, the fewer the amount of people there will be who can afford or are willing to pay large amounts for a comic book.
I told someone the other day that I would rather buy 1,000 dollar comics than 1 $1000 comic. I've only spent more than $100 on a single issue twice, and between $50-$100 10 times, but then that's just me. I'm probably an atypical comic collector.

I am probably one of the older collectors around her (57 yrs of age) so have been around long enough to see plenty of change in the industry. It was not that long ago that you could have picked up Strange Tales #110 or FF #52 for a lot less than they are realising now. I am confident there is still money to be made on many books for the savvy investor.

I agree with both of you. The more expensive the book the fewer buyers for sure.
I also believe general comic book values will continue to trend upwards over the long term. Comics are so hot right now that in the short term I believe values will eventually decline but long term they will trend up.

I wonder how much more the key / non-spread will continue to grow?
I think, some of the old forgotten comics will continue to stay flat.
Any gold or silver that gets worldwide attention could see a spike.

There is a TON of room for all ages to grow. I can see key and lesser keys of DC and Timely plateauing but that means that they just move on to other books/genres. One of the reason you see a lot more high priced moderns is how fast many silver and now Bronze have moved out of most people's affordability ranges. There is always another group of books waiting for their time in the sun. Now that time comes sooner.
