Looks like Brenda Starr 14 is off somewhat. I don’t have tons of proof but two current auctions listed below Ron. Thanks for your efforts in continually making the site better.

A cgc 1.5 just sold for $700.

A raw book graded VG is up to $985 with four days left.

Thanks for looking and changing the value Ron. I kinda knew books like this go back and forth in auctions or sales but thought the values were low considering the book itself.
You might want to “pin” this thread so it is listed on top of category Data & Missing Issue Discussion. This way maybe you won’t have to answer new threads every time by users who don’t look around forum.
Again, thanks for being the face of the forum, well needed.👍🏼

If having problems searching reduce the title while searching. I just wrote Buck Rogers for title and then 4 for issue number. Easy....here you go, see link below.

Dylman, how many on average a day do you scan? Getting to the 860 mark is fantastic. When I scan my books when saving I put the title and number down of course but would add what I paid. Cool when you look back and see the price paid years later.

The point given by Defiant1 of wanting books bought that would not decrease in value I agree with. I buy hardly any newly published books, buying only silver and bronze books mostly. If I’m paying $20 to $150 a book, I’d like to get it back if I was selling it later on.
I enjoyed the article.

Solarno, nice to read you collected CrossGen titles, I enjoyed the CrossGen world they created, most titles I really enjoyed reading. Meridian, Sojourn and Negation I enjoyed the most. The Marvel titles later were terrible I thought.

I use a iPad when looking around the site. I’m logged in but the forum doesn’t register it. I have to click the price guide, then click on a link on guide area, and then click the forum to just have site have me logged in. A total waste of time to be able to post under my site name/ID .... have to do it every time. It sucks. So I’m with defiant1, shouldn’t be this way and has been this way to long without a fix.

Frustrating, on forum less than 30 minutes and it logged me out. Re-did log in and site signed me out again in less than 10 minutes and the above post.
On the poll, not really one type of collector but married and investor would be me. Most stuff now I buy is only DC and Batman books, besides a sprinkling of odd comics and now getting into pulp books.

Not weird, but plan stupid by those in power. Your doing their job for the most part, or helping the site, get rewarded by a number, do more work and move up in ranking and get punished doing nothing wrong. I’m like you, rankings isn’t at all important, but some live for a pat on the back or atta boy’s with rankings or post counts. They are showing you the carrot only to pull it away from you. It really is a shame.
People like you make the site so much better, thank you Dylman.

Like saying a cameo doesn’t count for 1st app, only the first full app counts. Never figured that one out. I’m good, got multiple copies of both, Batman: Harley Quinn, and Batman Adventures 12. Some cover price paid and #12 was paying $25 to $36 before the big jump in value.

I’d think the value wouldn’t change much if not at all with the amount published shown by you.

Acid free storage boxes, is it overkill?

quinnspuddinjoker
quinnspuddinjoker
I use EGerber mylites2 and fullbacks to store my comics. Is it silly to buy acid free storage boxes if using Mylar and acid free backing boards for comics? A storage box is just a box is my thinking, paying extra for a acid free storage box doesn’t make sense to me. 5 boxes for $75, $15 a box. $15 a box might as well buy plastic corrugated box. Any thoughts to set me straight is much welcomed.

Once I start and get going, I actually enjoy re bagging of books. Part of enjoying it is seeing books I forgot I own and just seeing them again makes me happy. Of course some boxes I open up and get halfway thru, I end up asking myself, “ what was I thinking when I bought all of these”? Luckily, remorse is happening less and less since I’ve been trying to have less impulse buys....damn those impulse buys.....
Also wish Mylar was much cheaper to buy, nothing like dropping $140 for only 300 Mylar and fullbacks...got to do those buys every so often to lighten the cost instead of all at once. Have a few thousand to put in Mylar....

Say it ain’t so Stan, the living legend at 95 caught with idle hands, twice....read on and hopefully he hires Matt Murdock to settle the case. I’d love to see his books he has signed drop to nothing in price seeing there are thousands he has signed.
