Oh my GAWD the horror! I've been downgraded from a 5 to 4. What gives CPG?

ha, ha, ha. In the system there are a certain set number of 9's, 8's and so on. If you haven't had something approved in a while and someone else has this tragic and horrible event can happen.

The point is to make sure that active members of the site can move up. If someone is a 4 and hasn't done anything for months, they might drop to a 3 so that someone else can take their place. I didn't have any involvement in setting this up but that's what I've been told.

Not that is super important, and I know you didn't set it up, but I have been adding and verifying data at a pretty good pace for months now, with no real lag of more than a few days. I have been participating in forums as well. Lots of hits and info pending. I was cruising along at a 4 and then it finally upgraded to a 5 and I was pretty excited about that (about a week or 2 ago). Then all of sudden it went back down to a 4. Like I said, not a big deal, but it was pretty cool to finally hit that 5 after literally hundreds of submissions and verifications, but disappointing to see the 4 a few days later. Weird.

Not weird, but plan stupid by those in power. Your doing their job for the most part, or helping the site, get rewarded by a number, do more work and move up in ranking and get punished doing nothing wrong. I’m like you, rankings isn’t at all important, but some live for a pat on the back or atta boy’s with rankings or post counts. They are showing you the carrot only to pull it away from you. It really is a shame.
People like you make the site so much better, thank you Dylman.
