selling my collection?

I think the same way as crowman, selling collection in retirement. No doubt I'd have the time and most likely enjoy the process. I figure use eBay and only list 25 books each week, this way I won't be going to the post office every day. I don't want a job to sell, just something to do to enjoy the hobby.
Some of the collection will go to my daughter and her partner, nice they both collect comics. Thankfully I don't have a huge collection like some here but large enough to have a storage area at home built last year.

Cool buys Gil! Once again you got another book I have never seen, Paragon Software book.
Nice you enjoyed your four days at Sidney. I wondered where you were after a few days seeing no help with questions, thought you gave up on here. Glad you had a good excuse and are back now.😜

Looks beautiful, lucky you. On a side note, your men's football/soccer national team played well against Germany today. Looks like a good team, I hope they get far in the Cup.

Killing Joke

A must have for most Batman fans. Has been reprinted oodles of times it is so good. The first printing got expensive but easy to find.

What to do with +200 comics?

You'd be selling yourself short to make a fair amount of money by not looking at each book for conditions. I would hope you want as much money possible or at least have a fair offer and know you aren't getting low balled by buyer. Sounds like you dont care what you make but just wanting to just get rid of comics. If that is the case, give them away or trash.
Craigslist ad might help you get it sold locally.

not really a big deal, it happens all the time. You are correct not in right area. This should be fun. Being critical of newbies normally falls on deaf ears.

Marvel Masterpieces & how to price them

Comic Cards kinda crashed, most cards are cheap. Others have asked about another site for cards value but I don't think there is one. And no, this site doesn't have values for comic cards.

Should I follow the graded value?

Encased and slabbed is the same thing, both words describes a book that has been graded by a third party grading company then encased in a plastic holder. Books you grade yourself hopefully are put in " bag and board".
There a three companies that grade your books for a price. CGC and CBCS are the best.
CBCS is listed on the right side of this page. Click it and you'll learn something hopefully.
Hope this helps.

Well with this example, most I think would know to try one or both when looking up the book. I agree, not good if listed wrong.

need good laugh? went to comic store on vacation.

My closest LCS was really different compared to my old shops in Chicago that I was use to. After moving to South Carolina I found one store that was close, 45 miles from home. Really nice looking store, selling comics but lots of collectables also.
When I started going there they had a HUGE dollar book area that basically was books printed from 80's to current which covered 80 percent of the store. Then they had a small area of books from the 60's to early 80's on sale. Cool I thought but looking at those books the price was well over guide, no matter what grade the book was in. Looking closer most books that looked in very good condition were listed as if they were very fine. Most were priced that way. Big turn off. Stopped going there after a year, eBay buying filled my needs.
Went back last year when I was close to store and they were in a new building. All the dollar books were gone. What remained was boxes and all books had had three prices. $3, $5, and $10. Then they had a small area of silver and bronze books all low grade for sale, around 10 long boxes of those. Then they had all the books you would really want in a closed area called THE VAULT. The vault was only open about once a month, and if it wasn't opened and asked to look, they wouldn't let you look. They are now closed.

Likewise on this site, couldn't find it. Only place I found only had a reprint from 1978 that had the cover you described. See below.

I thought that was cool too. I really enjoyed the movie, well written, and the sound on it was killer on my sound system.
