Edge of the Spider-verse # 2.. The first Spider-Gwen has moved up in price again according to our site. I think that is funny as there used to be this one guy on our site who would always argue with me about Spider-Gwen being worth anything. And my quip back to him was always 'you can't stop Spider-Gwen.'

You always get those sorts of people. At the time that that debate went on though there was no telling whether or not the character would have the staying power on the market. Even now you will still get people saying that the character (and therefore that book) will crash some day. I haven't check to see what CPG has the price at but I know on the market the prices haven't been really climbing. They have been pretty much holding. Whether or not they will move higher remains to be seen. The original furor for the book was the biggest boost for the price so I think it could take some time to move higher. It is not in the entirely crash safe range yet

You really cannot tell what will become popular and what will die in this market. It's a little crazy and a little fun. Kind of like the girl (or guy) you dated in college who was too much drama but too much fun to kick to the curb.

So true figuring out what will stay hot or have the same value a year or two later. I really try not to buy many newly released books, mostly trying NOT to buy the “new” hot variant. I have a short box of those “hot” variants I bought over the years and maybe a handful kept their value, while most are not valued now of what I paid for years ago. Live and learn moment.
Not being perfect in not buying variants, darn it if I really like the new pencil only variants by Jim Lee for DC books. And thanks to colbalt here I got sucked in to the new Middleton variants, digging them.
I really really try to only buy books that have values that are settled and or hold their values over the years. So mostly buy Silver Age and Bronze Age books.

There is some comic book called Riptide seems to be very hot right now. I have not even seen it. Most stores have not even seen it.

Carnage: Mind Bomb $100+ NM and Rune vs. Venom #1 (first Venom with wings) $30+ NM are both crazy HOT right now! .............. Both Donny Cates connected (better adjust the prices!  )

Agree on the Carnage Mind Bomb comics - would like to know why. Also wish I would have put away a couple hundred twenty years ago - naeh, that comic was a "throw away - give it away" at the time.
Also Batman #871 - first Scott Snyder - blowing up on eBay and here at CPG - mini-BOMB!!! I fail to why - Snyder did lots of comics - is this now a movie script basis or something??

There was an interview by Donny Cates, he was being asked about the Web Of Venom one shot he is releasing soon, he said the Carnage Mind Bomb was the scariest book he read as a kid and told people to go out and pick up the book. So people think there is going to be a link between the two. ………..Venom is going to have wings in the new volume so, Rune vs. Venom is the first appearance of the wings, gotta love speculators. ( I got probably have a dozen I didn't give away they looked cool and its a pretty good story )

You are kidding me on the "good story" thing - right? In the 90's it was all about the art.
