Councilman Brian Daley has been using his "Family Man" slogan, takes his son for a walk. A small crowd gathers around him and goes into a speech. Daley's child is stolen by a poor woman named Conchita Hernandez. Brain Daley is shocked his kid is gone. Spider-Man is going to the hospital as Felicia Hardy is going to be released. Felicia is eager to be his partner again, however Spider-Man tells her that she is still on the mend and needs to fully heal. Peter Parker heads to work and finds that J. Jonah Jameson has hired a news crew for the return of Brian Jr. Offering a substantial reward. Peter decides to go find the child as Spider-Man. Conchita goes shopping. As she returns to her slum apartment, a couple of junkies led by a man named Malo recognize the child and decide to take it and get the reward. Spider-Man is having a hard time getting any leads. Conchita's apartment is forced into by the junkies who beat her and take the kid. Spider-Man is flagged down by a kid who will tell him where the kid is if he gets the reward. He agrees. He heads to Conchita’s apartment and finds her crying. She tells him how she had a child of her own who started crying but then stopped. Spider-man sees a dead baby in a crib. He tells her to call the hospital and not to tell anyone that she stole the child. Spider-Man tracks Malo's goons, but Malo makes a break for it with the kid. Malo falls into the foundation of the ruined building. Before Spider-Man can collect the child, they are attacked by a pack of wild dogs. Fighting off the dogs, Spider-Man is then handed the baby. The child is reunited with his family. Marjorie makes a fool out of her husband by grabbing Brian Jr. from him and publicly blaming him. Jameson once again humiliated by the media, Daley's campaign ruined, a junky is in jail, a greedy kid wasting his reward money on arcade games, and a poor beaten and disturbed woman who only wanted to prove that she could raise a child.
