With the Nega-Man showing Annihilus the path through the Negative Zone into the positive universe, Reed, Johnny and Ben travel into the Negative Zone to stop them from succeeding. As Sue watches helplessly through the Negative Zone viewer, Reed and the others battle Annihilus and his minions.

Reed breaks off from the group in an effort to stop the Nega-Man from trying to acquire power from the barrier between positive and negative matter, the Nega-Man is betrayed by his help and is ejected into the barrier, apparently killed.
Using the Nega-Gun to keep Annihilus at bay, Reed sends Ben and Johnny back through the portal, leaving Reed caught between the barrier, and Annihilus, risking his life to insure that the monster doesn't find the portal to their world.
