And Now...The Thing! 1st Appearance "NEGA-MAN" (Richard Janus)
Racing against time, Reed manages to complete the experiment to change back to Ben and it is a success. Further examination of Ben also shows that the change is permanent, and that he's earned the ability to change back and forth between Ben Grimm and Thing, excited, Ben takes Alicia out on a date.
While Ben and Alicia are on their date (briefly interrupted when Ben stops some thieves as the Thing), Johnny sulks over the loss of Crystal and Sue goes to visit her son Franklin at Agatha Harkness' home on Whisper Hill.
While the others are away, Reed gets a visit by a man named Janus who demands to be allowed to enter the Negative Zone. Inviting Janus up, Reed shows him the perils that would await him there and tell Janus of his experiences in the Zone. Janus, desperate to get into the Negative Zone attacks Reed from behind and travels through the portal just and Johnny and Ben return home. Reviving Reed, they just miss catching Janus as he enters the portal, Reed tells the others that a most dangerous person was just given access to the Negative Zone.
