To Trap An Immortal The Guardians, Batman, and Green Lantern decide to summon "Old Timer", the mortal Guardian from Maltus to help them discover which Guardian is secretly disguised from his real identity of Sinestro.
The heroes set up a trial to learn the identity of the impostor and while Batman and Green Lantern have to battle several constructs created by Sinestro, Old Timer manages to find the impostor among the Guardians using a bit of his own experience as a mortal. When Sinestro is finally discovered, the Green Lantern Corps attack him, but their efforts are futile as Sinestro is controlling the rest of the Guardians. Batman then suggests that the Corps should overload the Central Power Battery of Oa and Sinestro is defeated as he cannot control the massive energy influx from the Guardians. With Sinestro captured, peace is finally restored.
