As Superman is sending out his plea for help to all heroes around the planet, Supergirl encounters some aliens from the 68th Century whom have wound up in the present time. She starts use her telekinesis, but Superman arrives and throws their spaceship away from the Earth.
Back on the ground they meet with Lois who gives Superman a phone with his parents on the other line. Before the phone breaks up due to interference, they tell him to come back to the farm immediately. Conflicted about helping out with the other heroes on the current crisis or his parents, he decides to fly to Smallville to help them first.
Arriving in Smallville, he not only meets his adoptive parents but his biological parents, Jor-El and Lara Lor-Van, as well!. Jor-El tells him that Krypton never blew up. That not only did a scientist, Jen-Em, create a device that relieved the pressures that threatened the world, but that Krypton strived to restore the natural beauty of their world. His mother gave birth to a son, his brother Zan-El. Zan-El helped to lead Krypton into a new age and was elected prefect over the entire planet. They had always hoped to search for Kal-El but it took decades for Jor-El to formulate a serum that would free them from their dependence on Kryptonian soil.
While they ask Kal-El to return with them, Superman figures out that the time anomalies currently affecting everything must be responsible for their presence. That they are in fact native to another temporal reality. Clark initially declines their offer, and they leave as their serum is wearing off. Superman flies up to meet their spacecraft as it flies away, and he says that he would still love to visit them, and just as they express how proud they are of him, a chronal discharge causes them to disappear.
Metron appears to comfort Superman who is in despair after feeling like he has lost his biological parents again, and to remind him of the meeting in New York with all the other heroes. Superman says he will make the rendezvous, but before he does, he flies back down to tell his adoptive parents how much he loves and appreciates them.
