El Aguila Has Landed! Luke Cage, Danny Rand, Misty Knight, and Harmony Young are spending an evening at a local disco when the club is crashed by a new vigilante named El Aguila who has gained notoriety as a "hero for the underprivileged", taking on drug dealers and crime lords with a sword which appears to shoot electricity. Although they try to prevent more violence from getting worse in the club, El Aguila escapes.
The next day, J.P. Preston, the owner of the London Street Property Owners Association seeks out the Heroes for Hire for help. El Aguila has been robbing his offices, a predicament Luke Cage has no sympathy for as the Association has a reputation of managing total slums. When the Heroes for Hire initially refuse to take the job, they are reminded that they are obligated to protect him as their notarized contract lists that they are on a retainer to do the job.
When El Aguila attacks Preston as he leaves his office with a briefcase of money, Power Man and Iron Fist try to stop him. During the course of battle, Aguila is defeated and when the police arrive to arrest him, Preston tries to shoot the vigilante. When Power Man gets in the way, Aguila shocks the arresting officers and makes an escape with the briefcase. When Preston tries to convince the Heroes for Hire to go after Aguila, they remind Preston that they are getting paid a retainer regardless of if they succeed or fail in their job, and now that it's 5 O'clock they suddenly remember that they don't work after five and leave Preston behind to go and catch a movie at the Gem.
