 Evil Of The Ancients
William Wildeagle leads Carter Hall through caves to see some recently discovered cave drawings. William had seen television coverage of similar cave drawings is France and Carter's subsequent commentary on them and written Carter. In addition, Carter has seen similar drawings in Egypt. All three depict humans seemingly worshiping a large eagle, a winged horse and a large dog. Carter has dated these types of drawings back several thousand years, much older than standard discoveries. Carter has a possible, though unscientific theory: the drawings are a result of racial memory. Carter suspects that some event occurred in the past that was so traumatic, the memory of the event was somehow written into human's genetic code and was passed down into various societies. Carter also believes that explains why so many societies seem to see the same constellation shapes in the sky - bears, eagles, dogs, hunters, and so forth. Suddenly the ground trembles as the giant figure of Andromeda appears. Andromeda is heading towards a military warhead depot and the two leave to warn the government though Carter asks to be dropped off at William's tourist museum where he changes to Hawkman, borrowing a wooden shield, spear and tomahawk from the statue of Chief Wildeagle.

Hawkman catches up to Andromeda as the military attacks but their weapons seem unable to harm her. Andromeda attacks Hawkman but strangely his wooden shield protects him from harm. Hawkman uses the shield to ram her and advises the military to assemble a wooden battering ram. After injuring her with his spear, Andromeda attacks Hawkman with her chain. As the chain seems more solid than the rest of her, Hawkman grabs it and temporarily binds her, but she morphs into a winged horse, much larger in size, and knocks Hawkman away. Andromeda grabs several warheads and Hawkman attempts again to stop her but without the shield, Andromeda's energy affects Hawkman's Nth metal and he falls to the ground...only to be caught by the Flash who was returning from Nevada.
