John Carter and Dejah Thoris find themselves battling mysterious winged human-like creatures after crash-landing their flier. Both are taken prisoner and John Carter recounts the events up to their crash landing. Suddenly a giant winged man named Gar Karus invites John Carter to a feast and bids him to share his history. After the feast, John Carter is reunited with Dejah Thoris as they must outwit their captors. -LCG
