 One Angry Guy
Guy Gardner is disgusted when the Justice League of America decides to break up. Still, he can't seem to shake the feeling that he's lost a lot of his edge, and when he remembers that he's been saddled with G'nort as his partner as Green Lantern of Earth, Guy just gets more depressed.
Guy ditches G'nort and goes off in search of some trouble. He winds up at a carnival, where he realizes that his old flame Kari Limbo is running the fortune teller tent. Kari is unimpressed with Guy's attitude, recalling better days before Guy had gone into a coma. When Guy declares that he will not apologize for who he has become, Goldface reveals himself.
Goldface explains that he had been released from the prison on Oa by the insane rogue Guardian Appa Ali Apsa. Goldface proposes that Guy join him and a band of other intergalactic criminals an a crime organization as the legitimate front-man. Finally faced with an opportunity for action, Guy punches him in the face.
Guy and Goldface brawl all over the carnival, endangering the lives of civilians. Goldface's men appear with guns, and fire yellow rubbery bullets at Guy, reducing his power. Guy's Green Lantern Ring becomes ineffective against Goldface, who prepares to kill him.
Suddenly, G'nort appears, subduing Goldface. When G'nort asks what crime Goldface has committed, Guy is at a loss. In fact, Goldface chastises Guy for failing to take care to protect the civilians. Goldface leaves, noting that he will not press charges. Guy is left speechless with no victory, and leaves angrily. Kari suggests to G'nort that his friend is close to his breaking point.
Guy is left to decide for himself whether he wants to continue being a Green Lantern.
