Following his reputation being defeated by Flagg Fargo, Johnny ends up drowning his sorrows with alcohol and ends up being the target of the torments of a local biker group. After he gets beaten up after stumbling out of a bar he is taken home by a girl name Amy. That night he drinks some more to "keep the demon at bay", although Amy doesn't know that Johnny means this literally. The next day when the bikers interrupt their date to harass Johnny some more, Johnny eventually loses his temper and turns into the Ghost Rider and drives all his tormentors mad with hellfire. Afterwards, John tells Amy that there is no way to get rid of the demon within and leaves her.
