Vengeance attacks and kills a gang at the pier. Afterwards, he calls out to Mephisto. The demon orders him to kill Caretaker and retrieve the medallion from Ghost Rider's motorcycle.
Ghost Rider, Blaze, and a few survivors of the Quentin Carnival go to Dan Ketch's apartment to recover.

Meanwhile, Caretaker and Francis Ketch have a talk at Barbara's graveside, indicating that she has known all along what's been going on.

Dan transforms into Ghost Rider and fights another gang attempting to rob a store. Back at the cemetery, Vengeance attacks Caretaker. After beating him unconscious, Vengeance drives his body to Ghost Rider's location. Ghost Rider and Vengeance battle, until Caretaker revives and blasts the villain. He orders Blaze and Ghost Rider to escape, then disappears in a bright flash.
