The Day The Elements Went Wild
Clark Kent, employee of WGBS Television, is sent to investigate mysterious happenings in Haneyville (home of Rex Mason, aka Metamorpho The Element Man). Clark loses his disguise and becomes Superman in time to save the life of his WGBS associate as their van is sliding out of control while traveling into town. Superman then flies into Haneyville, eventually meets up with Metamorpho, and they discuss what is actually underway regarding all of the strange occurrences. Together they re-capture the imitation Orb of Ra from Simon Stagg's henchman, Java. Java has been wielding the imitation copy of the Orb of Ra throughout Haneyville thus changing the number of protons in elements making these items more gaseous, solid, et al. Eventually, Simon Stagg and his daughter, Sapphire, are revived and rescued by Superman and Metamorpho, the imitation Orb of Ra is recovered from Java and destroyed by Metamorpho and Java is brought to justice (jail) by Superman.

"Whatever Happened to the Original Air Wave" is part II of the book. It recaptures the story/death of the first Air Wave (District Attorney Lawrence "Larry" Jordan, the father of Hal Jordan) as his wife, Mrs. Jordan, dons his old uniform and finds her husband's killer shortly after he is shot in cold blood right in their home in front of both Mrs. Jordan and young Hal. Neither young Hal or his mother are hurt in the melee with the assailant as they fake being shot dead by the murderer, Joe Parsons. Mrs. Jordan is thus free to act in order to find and defeat Joe Parsons through the cunning use of her ballet skills and information she received from her travel agent. The arresting officers who pick up Joe Parsons don't seem to notice that Air Wave (Mrs. Jordan) has breasts, addressing Air Wave as a male when they are together to arrest Joe Parsons.

Black Adam does not appear in either story in this book.

"Pair Mail" letters to the editor has a letter written by Todd McFarlane to Bob Rozakis (Production Manager at DC). Letter is complete with McFarlane's home address in Alberta, Canada.
