Man On Fire It is the winter of 1943. Leading a mission to disable Nazi plots to develop occult weaponry, Captain America and the Invaders are thrown forward in time by a mysterious green mist, landing in the present.
With word of their return spreading across the planet, the Invaders are hunter by Tony Stark and the government-authorized Mighty Avengers. The Invaders, aided by Luke Cages Secret Avengers, stage a daring escape. Leaving Captain America and Namor behind, Bucky is confronted by his future self--the current Captain America--who tries to warn him of the events that led Barnes becoming the cold war assassin known as the Winter Solider. Meanwhile, Dr. Strange discovers that before he can send the Invaders home, they must find and rescue Paul Anselm, a young solider who came forward in time with them.
But, the Human Torch is at wits end. Their escape from the helicarrier came at the cost of many life model decoy S.H.I.E.L.D agents. His own android roots feel the suffering his colleagues cannot, and it brings back the memory of the death camps he helped liberate in World War 2. Incensed, Torch returns to the helicarrier--site of the destruction of these robots--to avenge their lives. An ominous robotic presence on the helicarrier has predicted his return, and sets into motion a diabolical plan...
