The World's Most Perfect Girl Metropolis is celebrating its centennial with a great fair, and Superman is putting on a demonstration of his super-powers. The fair organizer declares the city's indebtedness to Superman for all that he has done, and wonders how the citizens can express their gratitude. Professor Lurie comes up with the idea of finding the world's most perfect woman, for the world's most perfect man. To that end, she has a life-size template made up of a woman with the perfect measurements; the woman who matches every measurement perfectly, from head to toe, will be declared the world's most perfect woman.
When none of the contestants passes the test, Prof. Lurie uses her time machine, which she, conveniently, has just developed, to bring Helen of Troy to the present. When she steps into the template, she matches perfectly. Prof. Lurie explains to Helen of Troy that history regards her as the world's most perfect woman, and that they have the world's most perfect man for her. Helen is underwhelmed at the site of Superman, and declares that he is no match for Vulcan, or Mercury, or Hercules. But if he can demonstrate that he can do better than those three, she will consent to marry him.
To prove he is better than Vulcan, who created the world's largest volcano, to flame forever, Superman finds the volcano he determines is the one in question, and digs a passageway for ocean water to enter the its core and extinguish its flame.
To show he is swifter than Mercury, he flies back in time with a tape recorder, to record Mercury's words to Helen. When Superman comes back and replays those words, Helen agrees that Superman is indeed swifter than Mercury.
To show that he is stronger than Hercules, Superman goes to a city of Troy excavation site, lifts the entire site out of the ground, and brings it to Helen, in order to cure her homesickness. Helen is grateful for Superman's gesture and has him return the site to its original location.
When Superman returns to Metropolis, he discovers that Helen of Troy is a fake, as well as Prof. Lurie. The masquerade was intended as a means for "Helen" and the fake Prof. Lurie to make money off of Helen of Troy clothing , Helen of Troy perfume, and other Helen of Troy endorsements.
Lois Lane, who throughout the spectacle had been fuming with jealously, is now overjoyed with relief, and when Superman takes her back to the fairgrounds and has her step into the template, which she matches precisely, Superman declares her "The Most Perfect Girl In the World."
