War Games was a major storyline that swept through all of the Batman titles in 2004 and 2005. Basically the fourth Robin (Stephanie Brown) was trying to impress Batman and set one of his plans in motion without telling him. It was a plan to consolidate the various gangs of Gotham under the control of Matches Malone, Batman''s long time alias. Because Batman was unaware of the plan''s initiation, Black Mask became the gang leader of Gotham.
