As far as I can tell you are missing Editions #1 - #4, since this was only a 4 edition volume

I generally use the Text on the credit page, instead of the front-cover.

I have tried searching by most of the words provided; albeit, not many variants to the "Warheads". Have tried "Warhead", "War" + (issue)"9" to no avail.

Specifically my initial issue I am concerned with, atm: https://marvel.fandom.com/wiki/Warheads_Vol_1_9

How to Identify a minor Variant

woodjom
woodjom
The one common problem I am having is where the Variant listed does not describe, effectively, "how to identify" the variant. In the majority of the cases, the Variant's are widely different and can be easily differentiated. But in most of my cases, they can not; for instance, https://comicspriceguide.com/titles/1963/5A/pluumu and https://comicspriceguide.com/titles/1963/5/sjwxo

There are several other cases, and the description does not clearly assist in the identification of the variant. Simply stating "Ashcan Hero Premier No. 6" without some further description on how to identify the variant will lead to nefarious entities assuming the higher priced version and the ignorant buyer not having any real tools available to assist in the validation of the variant.

Are there any tools available to assist in the identification of variants?

When i usually do the "All Countries" I also restrict it with issue number and my luck was not good.

Variant: https://comicspriceguide.com/titles/incredible-hulk-and-wolverine-the/1B/vhu

I feel this should definitely be defined in the Variant Description.

Photo Comparison: https://ibb.co/428YCn5
Issue #1:
  • MSRP (upper left) for US ($2), UK (75p), and Canada ($2.25)
  • Marvel M for the Pricing Listing
  • Spider Man in "UPC location"

Variant #1-B

  • MSRP (Upper Left) for US ($2) and Canada ($2.25)
  • Comic Code to right of MSRP
  • UPC Code

Marvel Tales Presents #286

After reviewing the images for the issue, I identified that either the descriptions are flipped or the Images are flipped.

In either case, the image for "Newsstand Edition" does NOT have a metallic ink cover and is NOT Poly-Bagged
https://comicspriceguide.com/titles/marvel-tales/286/xbswl

The variant "A" IS Poly-Bagged and HAS metallic ink on the cover.
