I have to agree with Oxbladder. For its length it moved very quickly, but I don't see how it became the number one movie of all time. Star Wars fans must be turning over in their graves. edited by colbalt91 on 5/6/2018 |

I saw the new Deadpool movie tonight and it is even better than the first Deadpool. It is even better than the new Avengers movie. There is still the same amount of blood and guts as the first movie and maybe even more insults flying left and right with victim such as Jay-Z and Beyonce, Barbra Streisand Rob liefeld and once again the Green Lantern movie getting skewered. And wait till you see the X-Force team that Deadpool puts together I thought I would have problems accepting Josh Brolin as Cable as he has already appeared as Jonah Hex and Thanos in previous movies, but Brolin's Cable is very believable. edited by colbalt91 on 5/11/2018 |

Batgirl Girl #23B made CPG's comics to watch list in two days at the price of $30. It has to be the fantastic artwork on the cover. I tried to get an extra copy on Wednesday and it was sold out everywhere. By the way, the CPG comics to watch list has it listed as 23A which is wrong. It is variant cover #23B. |

The cover they show is 23B. That is the variant copy and that is going for $30 right now. 23A would be the regular cover. The Bleeding Cool website has a story on it right now. edited by colbalt91 on 5/28/2018 |

Incredibles 2

Incredibles 2 is a fun movie, but not quite as good as the first. This movie tried too hard to have heart. I felt it knocked itself out trying to be a family movie, when it should have been more a superhero movie. I think the possibility of trying to get Academy Awards bogged this movie down. Also, in keeping with the women's empowerment movement Elastigirl is given a big part in this movie over her husband. There are some drab colors used in the first third of the movie which would be more appropriate for a Batman movie. But maybe this helps get Academy Awards. You should still enjoy this movie, but it is just not as good as the first. |

I noticed today my comic shop still had the variant and the regular cover on the shelves. No price increase. Plus Midtown, today, is offering a signed copy for a cover price. edited by colbalt91 on 6/20/2018 |

Just saw the Batgirl variant # 23 sell for $191 CGC on eBay. The buyer must have been really disappointed as they initially wanted 200. |

I was just notified today by Midtown that my 10 confirmed copies of Batgirl number 24, the variant, that I had ordered last Wednesday and had confirmed by them, has now been reduced down to one copy. Last Wednesday there was no limit in the morning on how many you could order so I ordered 10 and had it confirmed by Midtown. They waited a whole week to notify me of this change. I think they are just Crooks. I say this because shortly after my order was confirmed on Wednesday they changed the status of the Batgirl variant to one per customer. I thought I had made it, as they never sent me a notification until today, a week later of the reduction. Also, that same day, they sold out. So my question would be why do they need to take my 9 copies as nobody could order any more. I sure hope that one reader that argued with me when I posted something against Midtown about a year ago reads this. He answered me he never had had a problem with them. He was probably a Midtown plant. edited by colbalt91 on 6/27/2018 |

Harlan Ellison dead at age 84

Harlan Ellison died in his sleep. I once met Harlan Ellison at a comic book convention in Houston in the early 80s. After he had given a discussion about his life and science fiction and Comics I lost him in the crowd for a moment and then I went up to him to say something. He had his back turned to me and when I got up to him I realized it was a 9 or 10 year old boy. Harlan Ellison was that short. |

Venom #3 is Hot right now. First appearance of KNULL - God of the Symbiotes. You never know, but I'm guessing he will be a reoccurring character.
I thought my comic store had loaded up with enough Venom # 3's not to run out because they have a Donny Cates signing tomorrow, but they either ran out or held some back for the signing. I think part of it might be that they use the word Knull for the main villain which in Sweden means f***/sex and perhaps speculators expect the name to be changed. I mean Disney does own Marvel now. So if the name does get changed, then this first print maybe the only print with the name of Knull. And if I remember right, despite Sweden's wild reputation for sex, that country insisted that Donald Duck be portrayed with pants in the Disney comic books a long time ago. edited by colbalt91 on 7/3/2018 |

Last night I saw a preview of this movie. It seems to continue the pace of the first movie with many of the same characters. Of course they have added the character of the Ghost who first appeared in an Iron Man comic book. I found the 3D for this movie to be much further along than any previous movie I have seen. I am not saying it is super, super great, but in certain scenes it was noticeable. Most of these scenes were low key scenes. I mean something like telephone wires in the foreground contrasting greatly with something happening on the ground below. Stuff like that. Stan Lee makes another appearance in this Marvel movie and has a very funny line. There is even a Partridge Family song in the soundtrack, so you know this movie is about fun. This is a very fun movie. And yes, there is a scene at the end of the credits. edited by colbalt91 on 7/3/2018 |

I went to the Donny Cates signing today and asked him if he had heard anything from Marvel about the name he used in the Venom comic book. He said he got an email from Marvel asking him if he realized what the name meant in Swedish. He said he replied yes, he knew. He said he has not heard anything else. |
