well, IF they had it, it would probably be under this listing, but it's not: https://comicspriceguide.com/titles/red-ryder-comics/1/tbrrkx
also not under Daisy anything for publisher, but there is this one under Daisy Manufacturing: https://comicspriceguide.com/titles/daisys-red-ruder-gun-book/nn/pbwviq note to admin--Ryder is misspelled in title and url in that listing as Ruder.
comics.org has it, so some admin can add it under the regular #48 or whichever publisher they want, or both would be better. https://www.comics.org/issue/1099778/ edited by collectibleshop on 11/20/2021 |

Search for a artist

Hi, I don't think there's an easy way. If you check issue by issue, and the artist name has been filled in before, then it should have a creators list, then you can make your own list to save on your device. that'd be slow going if you have a lot of comics. If you want to know how many comics you have by an artist, then google the artist's name (and maybe including a title or titles) and you'll probably find some database lists, or try comics.org advanced search. You don't have to fill in all the sections, just what's necessary: https://www.comics.org/search/advanced/ I haven't had much luck with their advanced search, I get either no results or way too many, but you can fool with it and see how it goes. Their regular search only lets you use 1 criteria, so you could use the artist name and then you'd get ALL the comics they've done, which could be a huge list. good luck. |

Cannot find Treasury Sized Batman VS The Incredible Hulk #27 Fall 1981 Looks just like the ones listed only this has the red dc and marvel present(like the 1982 version) and it has a black $2.50 in the upper right hand corner( the 1990's version is $2.95) and the cover has the bottom right hand extras on the cover(like the 1990's version) and this is an oversized comic book. On the inside it states volume 5 issue 27. The other two listed state its #1.
anyway, the comic's actual series title is DC Special Series, #27, it's here: https://comicspriceguide.com/titles/dc-special-series/27/tjsuk
always check inside for what the indicia says for the title. Both the Marvel and DC Treasuries are weird like that. See this thread for my search tips (4th post down): https://comicspriceguide.com/forum/topic12110-evil-ernie-youth-gone-wild-directors-cut.aspx

Missing: Spider-man 59 Newsstand Edition (1995)
collectibleshop
|
they're adding newsstands as they get thru them alphabetically and from variant submissions etc, so you can add them as a variant edition yourself instead of posting them on the forum. your CPG link goes to Spider-Man #59 (and doesn't work due to extra html code in it), but your example link goes to web of spider-man 59, which isn't any help. comics.org is a good place to find newsstand covers, but they don't have this one. https://comicspriceguide.com/titles/spider-man/59/wbtpk is the one you want, right?
I tracked a Spider-Man 59 newsstand down and attached it below, so you can copy/save that and practice doing a variant submission. Here's how, from an admin's post: Use the "Report Missing Variant" function found in the listings for individual books. You must be logged in to do this. - Navigate to the specific book that is missing a variant.
- Select the 'Variants' tab found next to 'Values'.
- You should see a red box titled "Report Missing Variants" on the right side below any listed variants.
- Clicking the box will bring up a page where you can enter information specific to the variant you are reporting (not all is required if the info is there from another edition already). This includes what it's called, price, artist, publication date, etc. This makes it much faster for the admins to process the request.
Just note in 1 of the info fields it's a newsstand edition, the rest of the info they have already, but ok to put in price etc to. You could spend your life finding newsstand editions they don't have yet, so you can contribute them as you want, or wait and let them get to them as they go, which could take a long time yet. I usually use a 400x600px pic for cover submissions, so if you have an image editing program, and there's plenty of free ones on the net to use online, you may need to shrink the size down from ones you find images of around the net (no watermarks, no signed ones, and need to be cropped to the edge of the comic), unless you have a scanner and can do your own. have fun... edited by collectibleshop on 11/24/2021 |

Justice League #1B New 52 wrong info

https://comicspriceguide.com/titles/justice-league/1B/phuylxu says it's the newsstand edition of the 2011 series, but it's actually a 2016 'Special Edition' reprint that seems was distributed in Walmart 3 packs. There's no cover price on too, makes it hard to sell on the newsstand eh? I unfortunately just bought 1 in a store thinking it was a 1st print, and when I couldn't find that particular slightly different cover on e***, I got to checking it out. Indicia notes 'Special Edition 2016, originally printed as Justice League #1 2011'. and the ads in it are for 2016 stuff. Comics.org has it correctly, but their newsstand 1 for 2011 is incorrect, and is the 3rd print newsstand. Couple sellers on e*** have it wrong and are calling it the rare newsstand, and 1 has it as the Walmart 3-pack with pics still in the shrinkwrap and the barcode matches what I got. (7 28192 48275 5). Other differences are the blue background banner doesn't go all the way thru the #1, and the barcode has no price. Unlike the other reprints, they left the banner background blue like the 1st print, so can easily be mistaken for a 1st print newsstand version, except for the no price. The store said they'd take it back at least. So much for the 1/2 price Black Friday sale 'bargain'.
the real newsstand one has the 3.99 price under #1, and a barcode 9 70989 30555 7
this is your newsstand edition, which is wrong like GCD's: https://comicspriceguide.com/titles/justice-league/1D/phuyhyv . that's the 3rd print Jim Lee cover with the red banner instead of blue for 1st prints.
Attached the only pic I could find of it at the moment, off e***, hard to believe there isn't more of them listed correctly. Pic isn't good to use for CPG, but at least you know what to look for.
attached the Walmart pack pic too, so you can compare.

Mickey Mouse Australian publisher prices not US $
collectibleshop
|
A few days ago someone submitted prices for a few of the W.G. (Wogan) Publications Mickey Mouse comics, as 1 cent, and I messaged them to tell them that's the Aus. price, not US, and CPG doesn't use the foreign prices in their cover price column. didn't get a reply, but saw that the cover prices subs are cleared off at the moment, so went and checked the title.
https://comicspriceguide.com/titles/mickey-mouse/rnxwo . haven't looked at all 300+, but saw that a few that have pics have the 1' shilling price listed under the cover price, as well as noting it in the subtitle info. like #1 has 9D for 9 pence, but it's .09 in the cover price columns which denotes 9 CENTS. #2 same thing, has that 'Price is 1'- shilling (.10cents)' notation, but has .01 as the cover price. https://comicspriceguide.com/titles/mickey-mouse/2/thurir
I've long been told that's the wrong thing to do, so letting someone know, if they want to fix it. A few others down the page are like that too, but since there's few pics, the majority have nothing for cover price.
This happens with the data submissions with all regularity, so it might help to add some info somewhere on that page and also maybe in the price submission popup box (so people see it before they do it) that 'prices should only be the US prices on the cover if there is one, otherwise leave it blank'. that will help with most stuff except Canadian variants that use dollars but only show the Canadian price.
and it would be very helpful if there was info ON the verify page about how to delete a mistake. I tell people all the time, most have no idea they CAN do it, much less how. Casper posted some good info about how to do submission stuff, so even posting a link to that or in a popup or separate CPG page with that and other info would help people, if they bother to read the intro paragraph that is. |

You've been busy!
As for the US prices being adjusted for the equivalent foreign prices, I believe I was told by an admin to just leave the US price field blank and that CPG just notes the foreign price in the sub title. I figured part of that was saving the time looking up what the equivalent US price WAS way back then or for newer stuff, as that changes over time of course.
You wouldn't have any way of knowing about me sending a PM to the submitter of the MM comics, so no problem there.
One problem I can see with a different currency drop down box is many US people will have no clue which to pick if they don't recognize the money symbols on the covers, especially when the country may not be noted ion the cover too. CPG would have to have a lengthy drop down menu with the currency names and symbols, and maybe they feel that's pretty time consuming to set up.
Did you get the pic of the Pinky and the Brain #1 with the DC Universe box I sent you directly? |

they're here, but under Classic Comics, like on the cover: https://comicspriceguide.com/titles/classic-comics-13-dr-jeckyll-and-mr-hyde/pnwxl
there's a lot of confusion on these and Classics Illustrated. as noted by CPG, "All editions after 3/1947 titled 'Classics Illustrated'." mycomicshop lumps them all under Classics Illustrated, which is not really correct. When you can't find 1 of these, do a publisher search for Gilberton (https://comicspriceguide.com/publishers/gilberton-publications) and click the C in the alphabet row and then scroll down thru them till you find what you're looking for, or just do 2 different searches using 1 of those titles. |

Hi Lcrump, I sent you a message earlier today about what this forum is for, so check your CPG inbox. This forum is for technical issues with the website, not database info. that forum is https://comicspriceguide.com/forum/forum15-database--missing-issue-discussion.aspx
usually gets faster results, but Gilgandra is everywhere lately . I've mentioned multiple times that this forum should be titled more like 'Technical site issues' or 'Issues with the website,' so it's more clear what it's for, but nothing ever happens. although it should be pretty obvious what the Database and Missing Issues forum is for, but words mean different things to different people. edited by collectibleshop on 11/28/2021 |
