Detective Comics 363 undervalued

You can submit this for value changes through our new system.

Go to the issue
https://comicspriceguide.com/titles/detective-comics/363/pjqwlq
Then to the "values" tab
Above the "Graded value" text is a button saying "suggest value update". (below the next issue number)
Click on that and provide us with a link to a finished auction and a price for a specific grade

You can do that with any book in our system. That keeps your request in our queue until we can attend to it. When you post in the forum it can get lost or forgotten.

Have you seen the documentary on Fred Rogers on Netflix? It's interesting. I'm curious how the two, the movie and the documentary, are similar and different.

I fixed the error and replaced the cover scan. We could not use your cover scan because it had a watermark "camscanner" or something like that.

I'm not sure what issues you sent in or who approved them, disapproved or deleted them.

To help with understanding...
Approving is obvious.
Disapproving is the worst case because it counts against your score. It's basically a wrong submission. I don't usually disapprove a submission unless there is a habit of poor submissions.
Deleted means that someone else submitted the same issue so we didn't want to count it against you. Or the scan was bad or non-existent. Does it have a glare? Does it have a watermark? Is it centered? Is it poor quality? Etc.

Harlee Thinn is from Counterpoint, one of the most difficult publishers for us. They don't go through Diamond and there are a crazy number of variants with tiny production numbers. Making it almost impossible to keep up with their releases.

In general, asking for something in the forums isn't the best option. Things get buried if someone doesn't see it. Most admins never look at the forums so you're not reaching your target audience. The best way is to use the system, missing issue, missing variant buttons. If that doesn't work email me. Ron (@) comics price guide

New Mutants #98 do I get it graded?

Key issues like New Mutants 98 will sell better and for more if they are graded. There is a cost involved in getting something graded but for that issue it's probably worth it.
Amazing Spider-man 300 is the number 1 searched for book on CPG and New Mutants 98 is number 2. Which means a lot of people want those two books, which is great for you.

The best part of putting your collection or your store's collection here is that you can keep up to date with pricing and you can sell on the site for no additional fees. If you have a gold membership you can sell your books here for no listing fees, no final value fees, no fees other than the membership price. To me that is huge.

Two things -
1. What are you doing for this Thanksgiving?

2. What are you most thankful for?

I'll start...

Tomorrow I'm running a 5K for a local homeless shelter. It's called the Drumstick Dash and about 18,000 people in Central Indiana run in it. It's a great time and it helps a mission, win - win. Then I'm going to my In-laws house for a massive Thanksgiving dinner.

I'm most thankful for...This is difficult because I have a really good life and have too many things to be thankful for. I guess I'll go with my kids. They are awesome, talented and almost always make me proud.

Your turn

Eaglewolf,
First post, welcome! We are beta testing the bar code scanner right now. Maybe I'll make a video for our Instagram for people to see it while in testing. Both of the things you mention will be on the revision.

We need everyone's help to add in the UPC numbers. I just added in all the UPC's for Batman volume 1. We've opened it up for all members to be able to add UPC numbers. Any help would be great.

Dylman,
I see what you're talking about. Let me look into this.

Our big need right now is UPC numbers in the system. Any member can add a UPC number to a comic book. We need your help adding those numbers!

This might help anyone who is interested in understanding the UPC number better.

A modern Spiderman comic has this number
75960608936902411 - The last 5 digits are what most collectors focus in on since 024 is the issue number, 1st Cover, 1st printing
75960608936902511 - Is the next issue

7 is from the UPC guidelines
59606 is the code for Marvel on current books
08936 is the code for Amazing Spiderman
9 is the check digit
024 is the issue number
1 is the cover number
1 is the print number

Easy enough formula now but there are so many books that need UPC's added. One of our members wrote a nice article on this topic on his blog. https://thejimfurey.com/2018/06/29/anatomy-of-the-modern-comic-book-barcode/

Newsstand and Direct

This is more of a public service announcement than a regular forum post.

We are adding an insane number of newsstand and direct versions of Marvel and DC books. If you see the total number of comics jumping that's one of the reasons. We need to do this because we are adding in UPC numbers for the barcode scanning on the app. One thing leading to another. ANYWAY, you might want to look through your issues and move your books to either newsstand or direct. If you have sales on the site you will want to check to make sure you have your books listed correctly now.

We are working through titles so it should be obvious where we've been. So many good things going on...

That is all.

I wouldn't delete everything if I were you. Odds are good that about half are the correct version.

During this process I started going through my Batman issues and found that I didn't like newsstand issues when I started. Almost all of my books are direct version.

Uploading up via Spreadsheet?

Ronbatman

The short answer is no you cannot upload an Excel spreadsheet. There are things with Excel that don't work well with our system.

Things you can do to speed things up
1. When you go to a title like Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles
https://comicspriceguide.com/titles/teenage-mutant-ninja-turtles/yitu
You can quickly add with the the green button on the side

2. If you have a lot of a certain issue you can add a run. Go to the same title and look further right in the toolbox. At the lower part of that box is add a run. When you click on that you can add hundreds of issues at a time.

I hope that helps a little. Plus now you will know the value of your collection.
