We understand that different people have different interests related to comics. Some people love the Golden Age, or horror books or superhero books or fantasy books or modern variants or whatever. Some of you have expertise with things that we aren't necessarily interested in, which is great.

To create a better price guide and a more complete picture of the comic book market we are enlisting all of our paid members for help. If you are a silver or gold member you can suggest value changes with links. Beyond our own research, it alerts us to changes that you've seen. We really think this will improve the site and give everyone a more accurate picture of the marketplace

Important things to note
1. We will check each listing and suggestion.
2. You cannot submit links from other price guides.
3. We will see your name, user name and the date when you submitted the suggestion.
4. This program isn't related to the number system so no negative or positive points are awarded for this.
5. You can submit raw or graded issues for evaluation

Please let me know if you have any questions.

Always Improving,
Ron

Hi Ron. Does our numeric rank play any part in something being approved sooner? Is there any feedback the admins will supply if more details are needed?
Thanks

Donald,
Your rank does not play into this feature so it doesn't change the approval process. I see that you've already submitted 4 suggestions. Thanks!

There is the ability for admins to leave comments if something is unclear or incomplete.

Hello Ron!
I think this sounds great! What kinds of links do you want? I mean, I understand not wanting links to other guides, but it really means links to auction results or sold prices from other sites, correct? You won't accept just listing prices, but actually sold prices. Are there any other sources you had in mind?

This feature could be a great tool, but as mentioned above, does this mean that you are looking for ebay sold listings almost exclusively? Also, if a book seems to have gone up and is selling for more that is listed in this guide, do we submit a different link for each grade? I see that we can can suggest value changes for more than one grade (which is great), but how do substantiate this with only one link?

Stephen,
We do not want list prices only sold prices as you suggested. We are looking for any credible source for sales so it could be Heritage, Comic Link, Ebay, CPG (we see our sales). I've had Brazilian customers submitting links from an auction house there. We were actually thrilled to see a new source of data for our overseas customers.

Dylman,
Not solely eBay, we want to see the full picture. If you submit a link to one grade that is off that will cause us to look at all the grades for that book so you don't need to submit it multiple times for each grade. Just pick one grade that is off.

We've seen several customers submitting links and value changes for the site thus far. This really does make us better by having members suggest changes and we can keep track of them better because they don't get lost on the forum or email. We become more accurate and your collection reflects the real selling price. win-win

I may have a lot of links to send soon... I have been trying to have CPG correct it's prices for Canadian Whites for years. There are currently quite a few up on the ComicConnect site. What is great about their listings is, yes they say the books are from an established collection, but they also state the fact that most are either the only copy listed at CGC or one of only a handful. When I tried to get the prices changed I was told that only a single sale, or a copy from a pedigree collections that was sold couldn't represent a valid sale to base the prices upon. The point is ALL CANADIAN WHITES ARE SCARCE with many, Especially from publishers Bell Features and Maple Leaf, estimated to have less than 20 copies period with few or none being high grade. Many of the listed auction books say they are "the highest" or close to it and only have a rating of a 6.0 or less. CPG should reflect all this.

It would be nice if whomever was in charge of the corrections could watch the auctions as well to see what I mean (most books are already at least triple the CPG listed price and there is still over two weeks to go.)

I realize this is a "Niche" market, as as stated for the reason for getting members involved (books that may fall outside of the interests of most) but it consists of a whole period with growing awareness in all parts of Canada. The collector whose books are for sale is American, so interest does go past our borders.

What section of the site would you like us to attach the links? I assume not here, but under the "missing/changes" forum or somewhere else?

Iron Puppy,
The Suggest value Update link is on the individual book page.
Go to an issue like Batman 349
https://comicspriceguide.com/titles/batman/349/pjqrhp
Then to the "values" tab
Above the column of Graded values is a link to suggest a price change

I really like this option, but want to know how often our suggestion/links are checked. It's just that I know the auction sites may not have the pictures/descriptions up a few months after the auction has ended so it will make them harder to check after a time.
Also (yes, I'm still on about the Canadian comics from the fifties and earlier) I found a great example of how off CPG is for these books. I just sent a "suggested price increase" for Nelvana, a one-shot from 1945 featuring one of the most sought after characters from the period, Nelvana. She pre-dates Wonder Woman by a few months and is rare in all of her appearances. The link is for an auction from 2016 for a CGC copy graded 5.0. What does CPG have this comic listed for in this grade? $24. What did it sell for in 2016? $14,750. Today it would go for much more...

Now, obviously this is one of THE key books, but it shows the vast discrepancy between the guide and the market reality. I hope that consideration is given to all the links and suggestions I have given as the 1940's especially and a few of the early fifties books are scarce they do not come up for auction often.

Another quick question. I think I got something wrong and may need to re-enter stuff, which is fine.
Since most comics don't have a value change in the CPG pages until after a grade of 7 the graded comics I was adding I was going for an UNGRADED price change (as they were generally graded 1.0 to 6). Even then I was reducing the amount suggested to 20% to 50% of what the CGC comic went for at auction. Should graded comics only be added for graded price changes? Will that still translate into RAW price changes? I've never been clear how that works on the site as there is so much variability in the prices. I can put them all back in as graded but since we're not supposed to put info in on the same books twice wanted to check first.
Cheers!

Stephen,
Regarding your question of how often, we try to look at this feature every day. You've probably noticed that I was working through the M, N, O, P, Q, R suggestions on Friday. To keep everyone happy, I'm going to do suggestions in alphabetical order. Everyone has different interests so we are receiving hundreds of suggestions. Any suggestion we receive from another price guide will be deleted so please don't do that.

Sidenote - Please remember that only the raw 9.4 changes appear on the recent value updates page.
https://comicspriceguide.com/value-changes/
If someone suggests a graded book change that won't appear on that page. It will appear on your collection page though. Even if they suggest a change to a lower grade that won't appear either. So last week I increased some low-grade books, those don't appear on that page.

If you have graded information suggest it in the graded area.

We are happy that everyone is using this feature and it's making a difference in the price guide. So thank you.

Fantastic, thanks!
I'll put the stuff back in under the "Graded" section. (I admit I didn't notice it when I first started, and then I just kept going!)
Glad it's helping out!

I have put in a couple of suggestions on price updates!!! Nice feature than you. Sometimes the market moves so fast - hard to keep up.

I have submitted several suggestions in the last week, is there a way to track what we have submitted? Additionally, if the admin has comments or feedback how is that returned to us. For example if you reject a suggestion how is one notified

I am copying my below comment as I put it is as a reply under a different forum but thought I should bring it here to, as it is relevant...

I'm glad we can now submit price suggestion, but wondered why only the eBay ones I put in were being done so I checked a copied link from a ComicLink auction and you can't view the end price unless you log in. Not sure if ComicConnect has that as well, but it would explain a lot. Do the people checking our links take the time to log in? I've sent in well over 60 links for Canadian White auctions and if they don't get looked at with a month or two the information will disappear from the sites, which is another limitation.

Also, I realize I said Canadian Whites but recognize many of my links were for Superior Publishing which didn't start until after the designated "Canadian Whites" period, but are still cool old Canadian comics. They are just more common as they were all sold more widely.
