you mean this series, already in the database, under just Resistance? https://comicspriceguide.com/titles/resistance/pkrvnw
The Free issue is also under the FCBD tab. Perhaps it should be under THE Resistance, if that's what the indicia says, but always try using fewer keywords and dropping little words like "the, and, vs, &, or" etc and focus on the major words, as CPG doesn't always title things the same that's on the cover, or even inside.
methinks this should come up using The or not, so maybe ronbatman will adjust that. |

it qualifies, as according to mycomicshop, "All issues are 16 pages unless a Superman story is inserted (bringing page count to 24 or 36 pages)", so that makes them 50% or more comics (50% is the newer standard).
It's listed here, but no pic of that issue. Series is https://comicspriceguide.com/titles/superman-tim/pjpx #3: https://comicspriceguide.com/titles/superman-tim/3/poqyb
Mike's Amazing World has it as #3, Oct. 1942 with a pic: http://www.mikesamazingworld.com/mikes/features/comic.php?comicid=156070 Mike's has pics of most (note to admins or users to get more pics for CPG, but they're not very big): http://www.mikesamazingworld.com/mikes/features/guide.php?page=promo&groupid=58
mycomicshop also has a listing, but no pic for any 1942 issues beyond #1, but their numbering is off after that, according to Mike's.
Google can probably find you more info. edited by collectibleshop on 8/8/2020 |

this should go on the Issues forum to get noticed quicker. same thing happening to me too, makes verifying info tedious, but if you try a couple times the pic usually comes up, but not always.
update 8-10--another workaround on the Verify list that works most times, is to right click on the thumbnail and open it in a new window. may also work on the regular listings, but didn't have a reason to try one at the moment. edited by collectibleshop on 8/10/2020 |

The cover for the number 6 in the cpg database is the incorrect cover. Not sure about other mistakes but i do have a copy of the 6 and in mikesamazingworld it matches the one i have.
makes sense, as #6 at Mike's says January on the cover, which adds up from #3's Oct, so CPG's #5 pic with May isn't right. Mike's has that cover as May 1949, #82 : http://www.mikesamazingworld.com/mikes/features/comic.php?comicid=37715 |

another workaround on the Verify list at least, that works most times, is to right click on the thumbnail (blank or not) and open it in a new window, although sometimes I get a 'file has been removed' page, but try it again and it works. probably works for the regular guide listings too, but still hit and miss. edited by collectibleshop on 8/10/2020 |

Anyone who has these issues, can you please submit scans or send the scans to me? It looks like all the scans are wrong. I will be searching for as many as I can find but this is a rare title so I'm sure some issues will be missing. Not going to use the Mike's Amazing scans since they are so small but they are helpful.
I'm adding dates to the issues now and searching for available scans.
From my understand none of these books are numbered. So I will be removing the numbers but putting them in sequential order by date. (Making the scans even more important)
Thanks, Ron
emailed you some sites with pics, which you've probably found anyway. the 'numbering' just goes by the month apparently, so good enough. |

note in the listing sub-title it says 1b is the retailer version with 'blank pages'. so look inside. if you have blank pages (a printing error obviously) you have 1b, if not, you have 1c. a google search will tell you these things |

if your bag is sealed and $2.50 cover price with the poster etc, you do not have the blank pages one. that was a retailer promo pack version that came in it's own special packaging and sent to retailers. from what I can tell by pics, it was not polybagged inside the pack. |

right place to report it, and best to post a link to an image. I don't see it in the list either, so guess they haven't gotten to it yet, but it wasn't released till July 30 from what I found.
but, it's faster if you submit it yourself, which you can do when logged in. Save a GOOD cropped-to-the-edges pic with no watermark to your computer/phone first. then go to the page that issue should be on, https://comicspriceguide.com/titles/negan-lives/1/phqshrq , click on the Variants tab, click on the red 'Report Missing Variant' button in lower right after the other covers, and fill in the info boxes as best you can (note it's 1 per store), and upload the pic from your computer/phone, and they'll get to it when they get to it.
Pics I've seen make it look dark red/rust color in the title, some look bronze if angled, but CPG prefers a square-on pic. edited by collectibleshop on 8/17/2020 |

If you mean the back cover is the only difference, I don't think they care about what's on the back cover for the logo box (I'd guess 99.9% of collectors don't), and don't count those as variants, but ronbatman can confirm, or add them if they have any different value on the market. but from what I saw on that auction site, few even note the Cap box differences at all, it's all about which card. After almost 30 years I'd say no one cares about the Cap box on the back. edited by collectibleshop on 8/19/2020 |

actually that's backwards. they have the direct edition cover, they're missing the newsstand cover with the barcode. they're working on adding newsstand versions as they go alphabetically, which has been mentioned in the forums. so it may be a long time till they make it to the U titles.
if you want to submit the newsstand version as a variant, here's a pic from comics.org (it's safe) you can copy it and then submit it with the red Report Missing Variant button on that issue's listing, under the Variants tab. https://files1.comics.org//img/gcd/covers_by_id/912/w400/912198.jpg?8424466382134000290
or, you can message the CPG guy in charge of the newsstand adding, ScottWesty, thru https://comicspriceguide.com/members/scottwesty . you can't attach an image, but he can reply and give you an email address you can send an image to. |

Hi, this is not uncommon. a google search will find this info: "Another variant comes from the “Whitman three-packs”: the Whitman company, which distributed Gold Key comics (that’s an oversimplification of a tangled corporate relationship I’m not going to get into here), contracted with Marvel in the late ’70s to market bagged sets of Marvel comics in places like K-Mart. Those came three to a bag, and can be distinguished by an altered upper-left box and a blank UPC code.... The Whitman variants, when out of the bag, are usually the same price as the “normal” books, although unopened three-packs can go for more — roughly twice what the three books inside the bag would go for in their “regular” incarnations."
They are not published BY Whitman, so are not Whitman comics, and from others places I read, they are 1st prints, direct market versions for stores OTHER than comic shops. most agree they have no special value over other 1st prints. does it look like this?: http://www.bipcomics.com/showcase/Direct/images/IncredibleHulk/216d.jpg edited by collectibleshop on 8/26/2020 |

when you get no results, read the blurb on the page below that that says "No results? Try these tips: Are you looking at the right country? Try changing the search to "All Countries". Your search may have been published outside the USA." Titan is a UK publisher, so they're under UK.

thanks Gary
1-2 pages of stories does not qualify, they have to be 50% comic story. It's still an order book, and size/format doesn't matter. I'm not sure how Marvel Previews differs enough to be listed, but it may have more comic story content. an admin can chime in and explain CPG's position, I don't work here. paging ronbatman.. |
