Sites that show back covers or give barcode info?
glorkar
|
If it's one of the variants directly from Marvel, you should be able to enter the barcode in the search box on this site and it /should/ come up. Ones with lower print runs and higher price tags designed for specific stores may not be, as much of that is user entered. It might be, but there's less of a chance of it. . Personally, I would not keep the comics in the mailing bag. First, why buy it if you can't even see it to enjoy it? Second, those bags are not meant for long term storage. It will do more harm than good. Invest in some decent bags and boards. . No idea what the letters and numbers that you posted mean. Never seen anything like those. . For images of back covers, your best bet is to jump on eBay and search for the books you ordered. Chances are pretty good that someone is selling a copy on there and has images of the front and back of the book you can use to compare to. |

Another nice guide in this format would be one for coins, stamps. I have Numista for coins, but its not very user friendly when trying to suggest value changes like on here, and I haven't found one for stamps yet.
Anybody else into coins, stamps?
Ben
I collect coins. I use numista to keep track of my collection and eBay and NGC to value it. It's a bit of a bummer that I have to use multiple sites, but it's not the end of the world. Might be different if I had a whole slew of coins that were valuable, but most of mine are not.
As for cards, that's a tough one. I had a decent collection in my teens, but got rid of most of it over the years. The problem is that most non-sports, non-tcg cards were mass produced. For Magic, Pokemon, etc, there's TCG player, but that's a specific type of card, you know? Being comic geeks here, I'm sure most of us had at least a few of the Marvel Masterpiece type cards, maybe some Batman and Dick Tracy thrown in there. You can buy the full sets online for relatively cheap now.
With something like that Doctor Who card, since it's unique, it's worth whatever someone else is willing to pay for it. The money is in the autograph imo, so maybe there's a site out there that handles those? |

If it's working, you should be able to delete the entry yourself. At the top of any page, click on "Price Guide" to open a dropdown menu. Then click on "Help Verify Data" On the new page, click on the "Creators" Tab Find the book in question and hit trash can next to your entry. |

You should just be able to search for the title and issue. It will show up as a variant in the results. Are there any in particular that you are looking for? |

Oooo. I totally thought these were just the standard DC dollar reprints, not Dollar Tree (the store) variants. My bad. At least other people knew what you were talking about. I'm always learning something on here, lol. |

It made sense when it was closer to an even split. For the last decade you'd be hard pressed to find a newsstand copy. Having the most popular cover as the main/primary cover really is the way to go. I look forward to seeing what this shift might be for! |

I don't know if I really have a collecting strategy or goal right now. For the most part I'm buying current / new release books that catch my interest. I pick up ASM and Batman, but I also go for newer titles like Something Is Killing The Children and Strange (Doom) Academy. I might try to complete my Gen 13 collection this year. They've got everything I need at mycomicshop. Just a matter of if I want to spend the money. For older books, I don't hunt for them, but if I see any silver age book I scoop it up. Prefer those books with the under a quarter cover price. |

the idea of Dr Strange running a school is something I want to look into.
Funny thing is, he really isn't the star of the books. He's hardly in them at all. There are a few teachers, namely Magik and Brother Voodoo and the librarian, but other than that, it does a real nice job of focusing on the children. And unlike other school / academy books that have come out, each of the kids is fairly unique. They're all different variants of magic users (vs sidekicks or mini-me characters) edited by glorkar on 2/28/2025 |

The Boys Publisher

My guess? If it's a reprint of issue #1, it got submitted as a variant of the original issue #1 printed by WildStorm. Looks like Dynamite has the rights now, so they are the ones who printed this issue. No idea the magic that would need to be worked to have it show under the series but with a different publisher. Or should it get its own listing with a note stating it's a variant of the original WS release? |

Looks like there's two #2B issues. .
This looks like the one that is correct: https://comicspriceguide.com/titles/rogue-the-savage-land/2B/pivsmsq . This one is the ratio, so pretty sure it should be #2RI-B: https://comicspriceguide.com/titles/rogue-the-savage-land/2B/pivsmpy |

Adventures Into The Unknown #154-161

I just picked some issues of Adventures Into The Unknown (https://comicspriceguide.com/titles/adventures-into-the-unknown/viqv). The covers are credited to Pete Costanza (154-156) and Jay Kafka (157-159). Reading around, looks like it was actually done by Kurt Schaffenberger, but he put the other names on them since he had an exclusive contract with DC at the time. 160 and 161 don't appear to be signed but are his work as well. Link to the comics.org creator page: https://www.comics.org/creator/7913/ . Just wanted to put this out there so my entries don't get noped. . 157 has Chic Stone incorrectly credited as cover artist, so that should probably be removed. https://comicspriceguide.com/titles/adventures-into-the-unknown/157/pnwtit
Also, if an admin is feeling productive, they can add the subtitle or note or whatever that issue 154 is the first appearance of Nemesis. https://comicspriceguide.com/titles/adventures-into-the-unknown/154/pnwtis |

What books are you most excited for? Do you go to an LCS or get them online?
I got to my local shop. And luckily, they don't set any sort of limit. If I wanted, I could probably get a copy of every book they have. That said, I still try to limit it to 10 or so. This year I plan to grab:
Fantastic Four / X-Men (1st appearance of Dadverine and Volverpool, 1st team appearance of the All-New, All-Different X-Men and 1st appearance of a new mutant) Spider-Man / Ultimate Universe Marvel Voices (1st appearance of a new Ghost Rider) All In / Absolute Universe (I'm really digging the Absolute Universe titles) Gargoyles Demona (origin of Demona) (Loving the Gargoyles since I was a kid watching the cartoon) Archie's Comics Spectacular (another childhood holdover) IDW Dark (who doesn't like spooky stories?) Energon Universe Special (interested to see where the shared universe is heading) Boom 20th (eh, why not?) Worst Bot Ever (1st appearance of Ballpoint) Post Malone's Big Rig (want to see what the hype is about and why they think it'll make a good movie) |
