Tracy,
I looked at your account and I can see 5 different books have changed values in the last month. So are you saying that individual books are changing and the total value is not changing?
Let me know,
Ron

Scoop,
I found the problem with Bone #3. We had two scans that were the same, it's corrected now. By the way, you have a 3rd print.

I can help.

  • You need to have a silver or gold account. If you have a lot of comics to sell go ahead with the gold yearly plan. $50/year is way cheaper than eBay. If you have a few go with the monthly plan.

  • Add the comics into your collection. Proper issue and grade are needed.

  • Click on a title that you want to sell like “Batman” or “Infinity Countdown”. You will see a list of all books in that title that you own. To the right there is a green edit box, a blue sales box and a red trash box. When you press the blue sales button a popup will appear.

  • Fill in the sales popup. Asking price and Sales Information. I copy and paste sales information to speed up the process. Something like, “Shipping to domestic US only. Combine shipping and save. $5 for each shipment.”

  • Click the “Sell Now” button

  • You can also make a classified ad to list everything you have for sale or for lots.

Regardless of which premium plan that you're on, your books and notes are safe. We do not quickly delete everyone's stuff after a day or two. That would be disheartening to collectors to have all that work destroyed. We are collectors too.

I've heard that Miracleman #15 is a difficult book to find. Based on your years of looking, it seems correct.

I can tell you that Overstreet only updates 1 time per year which makes it horribly out of date on books that are rising because of a movie, show or new appearance. Comics Price Guide updates often, we try to make daily updates on prices. We also have more grades listed, as well as graded vs. raw. In my opinion, they have a long history but that's the only advantage.

Ammo1231, it tough to assign a grade of 9.4 to everything because of printing differences, diamond distribution handling, the comic shop and then you. Ideally, you should look at each book, based on what you said some will be 9.4 or 9.6 or 9.8 and some will be lower. I've seen books taken from the Diamond boxes that were torn or damaged so I'm not saying it's your fault that some will be lower. I wish you the best in selling them. As with everything it will take time.

How are the comic values determined?

    Ronbatman

    Hey CFarrow,
We strive to be as accurate as possible. There are always anomalies where something sold for too much or too little but try to exclude those values. We determine prices by using the various places where comics are sold, Ebay, Heritage, ComicLink, local stores (when they are willing to share that info) and here on CPG. We aren't always correct because things are constantly changing but we do promise to look at any price you think is off. We will research it and then get back to you about it or change our pricing.

There isn't another database with pricing for over 1 million comics. So yes, I'd say we are by far the best. (not perfect but striving to be that)

Values of my collection are dropping.

    Paradox,
There are rare instances when a book can drop in value without it showing up on the gains and losses page.

If we make multiple adjustments to a book and the last adjustment is up then it shows as a gain.

For example, if a book is overpriced at $300 and we change it to $150 and then immediately change it to $200. The price will show as an increase because the last change was upward. Overall the price went down by $100 but the last change was an increase, so it shows an increase. This happens when we are finely tuning the price of a book.

    Color status and value

It's important to note that "white" refers to "white pages". Let's consider 2 books both are 9.8. One has white pages and one has off-white pages.

The difference between white pages and off-white pages says something about how the book was stored over the years. Both books were handled carefully as indicated by the 9.8 grade but they were stored differently. If you find a white book that has some age to it that indicates that it was put in proper storage, a cool, dry and dark place. Off-white shows that something related to storage wasn't perfect. Maybe it was in stored in an attic for a couple years or a storage unit without AC or heat or stored in bad bags and boards. The color change shows oxidation of the paper, it is slowly degrading and that is the first step. The last step is brittle pages that turn to dust.
