New Comics Price Guide App

It's been a few years since we launched the CPG app and it's starting to show its age. Some newer phones cannot download it. Apple is requiring a way to upgrade to a paying membership using their platform. They need their 20%. Plus we want to make improvements to the functionality of the app and expand features.

Last week we hired a company to build a new app. Right now it is set to launch before Thanksgiving. Hopefully, we can launch it sooner but most of the work will be outsourced to this app development company. Please be patient with the current app as we oversee the development of the new app.
Thanks,
Ron

No, we do not list the Overstreet Price Guide since it doesn't meet our criteria of 50% comic book story.

If you would like to suggest a variant that isn't listed please go to the 1st issue.
https://comicspriceguide.com/titles/baby-zombie-candy/1/piprkyy
Click on the variant tab.
Scroll to the bottom and click the red button "Report a missing variant"

That's the best way to suggest an addition

We can rebuild it, we have the technology.
We are working on a new data grid for the site. The technology isn't as important as the goal. The end goal is to speed up the site and allow you to search faster. In my tests, it was significantly faster approximately 2x to 3x faster. If you would like to see and work on it here is the link.

https://beta.comicspriceguide.com/

This is a live version of the website so if you change something in your collection it's really happening. You will be affecting your collection on the regular site and the beta site. The two versions are linked together so be careful. Please let us know if you encounter any issues/problems. We want to fix everything and test everything thoroughly before launching it to the public.
Thanks,
Ron

I don't know if this is the issue or not but it's worth a try. The beta site will not work on your phone IF you are using data. It will work on the website and on your phone if you are using a wi-fi. Weird but true.

Thank you both. We will look into this today and see if we can figure it out. Internally we have logged in as admins, paying members and free members and had no issues. This is why we start with a small sampling first.

We have discerned the issue. The company that manages our servers had only white listed our IP address for the Beta site. They are resetting their servers tonight so all of you should be able to see it tomorrow sometime.
Thanks,

Had some fun with an Amazing Spider-man article and read about 25 early issues. I was genuinely surprised at how Stan Lee made us wait for the big reveal.

I've gone through all the issues you mentioned and both American Flagg series. Some of these require a little opinion like issue 6. Is she kissing him? Is he accepting the kiss? This is a process and not a single instance so on we go.

How often are new/variant covers updated?

Ronbatman

We receive hundreds of variant covers every month. Single issues can have 100 variants and everything is manually added to the site. Issues with no pricing are worked on individually as well. One of our admins recently spent weeks adding values to over 3000 issues with no values.

Pricing on the site is a mix of several sites sales data and there is a mix of set pricing structures and individual pricing.
Take a look at Amazing Spider-man 40.
The raw 9.4 is $938 and the graded is $3600 which is approximately 4 times the value.

However, issue 41 has less of a difference
The raw 9.4 is $1800 and the graded is $5300 which is less than 3 times the value

ASM 44 is even more dramatic
The raw 9.4 is $400 and the graded is $2800 which is 7 times the value!

I hope that helps,
Ron

I've added them to the database without scans. The scans look like pre-production scans.

Bryan is reading all of these posts and working on fixes. Most things will be exactly the same but they should function much faster. I'm running both versions of the site at the same time and checking speed.

Hey Marciano,
I added the first 3 comments. The last one puzzles me. I looked through that issue online and couldn't find any Corvette. The cover shows a pink door but that isn't to a Corvette. They don't have the framing around the windows like the picture (the part where their hands are). I don't think Corvettes ever had that framing since they were more open-air cars.
Thanks for the information.

I've added the publisher, title and issues to the site. I haven't added a value for these books yet. This will allow you to add them to your collection though.
