I ended acquiring a small collection of comic books. Right now, I'm trying to figure out how to assess what I have, but I would eventually like to be able to sell all of it. Does anyone have any good suggestions on doing so in such a way that I can get them out the door in a reasonable time frame, especially determining what would be worth my time in trying to sell them?
And as a side question, would it be worth signing up for an extended account here, given that I really won't have any interests beyond getting these particular books gone? I do note (look at what I entered in so far) that I'm finding a few books that seem to be beyond the pedestrian according to the price guide, so I have to wonder how best to maximize what I have.

I've been buying and selling a lot recently, and there are a few things that you need to keep in mind:
If you are looking to get maximum value from the sale, you will not be selling them quickly. The values listed on this site are accurate, but it may take quite some time to get those values. You can sell them on the classifieds here, you can sell them on craigslist, you can sell them at a local comic convention, all will work fine. If you are wanting to sell everything quickly, it will not be for the values listed on this site. You can approach a dealer or a local comic book store, and they will probably take everything you have. But, you are likely to get 10 cents an issue or so for the common stuff, and half the value for interesting issues (like the first appearance of a major character or something with some age.
Second, you will want to get a rough idea of how to grade your comics. There is a grading guide on this site, and it works very well. You can also use a free tool like this one:
http://www.e-bigs.net/freetool.php
Grading is the key to figuring out what comics are worth. People see that something is worth $80 in near mint and will ask for $80, despite the fact that the comic has been used as a coaster for two decades. If you are going to go for a quick sale to a dealer, you probably only need to do this for issues with a near mint value of $10 or more so you can make sure you aren't being ripped off. And if they are all in god condition and from the 1970's or earlier, then you can expect a tidy little payday.
I'd recommend a mix of the two styles, though, if you are looking to get rid of everything quick. Take a look through the collection and take out the best issues. Ones with age or ones with high value should be separated out and listed individually in the classifieds here, on eBay or on craigslist. The rest could just be dropped off at a dealers and sold really quick. Or, in my area, if you list a collection for under $100 per long box, it will sell very quickly on craigslist. This may vary in your area, though. It works out to about 40 cents an issue.
Now, if you are wanting to sell through the classifieds here, then you will want to pay for an extended account. You are going to end up paying to sell your comics, one way or another, though. If nothing else, keep a little excel database of what you have. It will make things so much easier in the long run for you.
Hope this helps.

I'm pretty experienced with baseball cards, so I pretty much have my expectations in line with that. So I'm not going to be too tripped up. My main worry is being able to get out from under them quickly enough in case things go south (my housing situation is precarious, along with my finances), and since I don't know anything about the market, I can't say too much about my options. If the "collection" tool here seems useful enough, I might pay a month just to be able to catalog it and put it out there a lot easier, rather than doing 100+ ebay auctions or the like. The main problem I see is that it's all (mostly) older stuff wrapped in plastic baggies, so I recognized pretty quickly I need to tread lightly.
The good thing about it is that I (more or less) got it for a song, so more or less as long as I don't spend too much time or money on it that I can't get back, I'll be doing well.

Hopefully what I'm doing now can be exported. I think I saw an option for that. Main thing right now is that I'm trying to figure out what's here and then what to do with it from there.

Ok, sounds like you have a decent idea of things. Yes, you can export the data from CPG, though I know you will need a paid account to store more than 50 issues.
And as I said, you can probably sell them in bulk pretty quickly on craigslist, if you ever need to, or take them to a dealer if you need the money really fast. edited by CapnDoug on 2/5/2016

I got a paid account, hopefully I can show the list on here to interested buyers somehow. As for bulk, for what most of them are coming up for in the price guide here that aren't obvious "Got to try them on e-bay" comics (I'm already sorting those aside), I'd have to ask $1 an issue at minimum, given most of them are coming up around $3-$6 in the mint range. Once they're all scanned, I'll have to go through the list and see what's there and proceed from that I suppose.
Edit: I got through the pile and only have the "unsures" left which I'll ask about in another place. I haven't figured out how to put them up as "for sale" here, but for those that want to look at what I have:
