Bruce Jones, did he also write Twisted Tales series? Enjoyed that. Most of my magazines I bought and still own are of Conan. But own a sprinkling of Eerie, Creepy, and Vampirella. Magazine size is perfect for reading but the need of a magazine box to store them and finding a good place to store sucks for me. I end up using part of the boxes to store slabs instead of magazines. The deadone lives again, nice hearing from you, been too long! I was called headrush before the changes!

Bruce Jones did do Twisted Tales as well as Alien Worlds, both from Pacific Comics.
This past year I also completed not one but TWO complete Savage Sword of Conan runs, one higher grade and one lower/mid-grade. Not on purpose mind you, it just kind of happened. lol I also picked up a complete Marvel Premiere Classic hardcover collection (107 hardcovers total). In theory, it looked a lot easier to display than it turned out. That's a lot of books.
I'm still a big Buffy The Vampire Slayer fan. In 2018, I plan on finishing up my collection of the hardcover Library Editions of both Buffy and Angel/Faith. It shouldn't be too hard, but I'm cheap and that makes it a bit harder.
Great thread HR. Keep the fires burning. edited by deadone on 2/23/2018

Ha! If I remember correctly you were the biggest Buffy fan on here and didn’t you sell it all off years ago? I mean you were collecting everything Buffy even the extremely hard to find Buffy books and just stopped and sold off the collection? Am I wrong? Either way, good to hear you collecting the hardcovers. I bought the trades from dark horse of Savage Sword of Conan years ago, just fun reading. Written well and the art was fantastic. Congratulations on completing two sets, that had to be enjoyable to do. edited by Jokerbangedquinn on 2/24/2018

I did have a complete collection of all things Buffy up through the end of Season Eight, which is when I stopped. The variants that were coming out with the Angel After The Fall Series and beyond killed it for me. It was fun to complete the full set when there was only 1 or 2 variants per issue, but 5, 6+ variants per issue was ridiculous.... so I stopped and sold the collection in one huge chunk to someone in Australia. My completionist mentality could not keep up with my bank account (or my patience) at the time. The trades are much easier for me manage and, to be honest, satisfy my binge-reading nicely.

I have been too sporadic in my acquiring in general. I want to concentrate on filling in holes and completing runs.

I have a few goals for this year:
1. Organize my books and enter the rest of them into CPG. Think I'm a few years behind on entering my collection so that will take a while. 2. Replace boxes and begin the process of rebagging and boarding my books. (I dread this part). 3. Complete my Conan the Barbarian collection. Not too far away from a full set. 4. Buy some bookcases to stash all my TPBs. Too much stuff just laying all over the place.

Once I start and get going, I actually enjoy re bagging of books. Part of enjoying it is seeing books I forgot I own and just seeing them again makes me happy. Of course some boxes I open up and get halfway thru, I end up asking myself, “ what was I thinking when I bought all of these”? Luckily, remorse is happening less and less since I’ve been trying to have less impulse buys....damn those impulse buys..... Also wish Mylar was much cheaper to buy, nothing like dropping $140 for only 300 Mylar and fullbacks...got to do those buys every so often to lighten the cost instead of all at once. Have a few thousand to put in Mylar....

This is one of the reasons why I've been doing a lot with feeding the CPG megacomputer with creator info. It gives me an excuse to pull out old books and enjoy them again. Too many times they get placed in a box, never to see the light of day again.

Great question HR. and here we go!
1) Pay rent before any purchase 2) Find some more bronze age horrors. 3) I try not to add goals when it comes to comic books. I like to go on instinct. Chance it, Most times i come out on top. 4) Find a copy of "Superman: The Man of Steel # 17" second print ...Oh! just found one, By chance will post soon. 5) Find a few key issues i've been after. 6) Re-post all my pictures in my back issues thread. As photo bucket sucks dog balls (big hairy sweaty ones) it may take awhile for this to happen. 7) Keep posting on Tex's blog page that is where my latest post are. https://texscomicsnewsandreviews.blogspot.com.au/ 8) Hope that some older CPG members come back. Unknown (Mitz), Bounty, Robbie (master collector himself) among many others. I miss you guys. 9) Finish "My Display Case". I have to go through a S*#% load of boxes to find those books that are worthy. 10) Buy a major book or many small books at "Supernova" Sydney this year. Going in blind, Wish me luck.
I thought i add this for fun. My Non-Comic goals for 2018.
1) Find a boxed set of "Rockford Files"
2) Get back into playing some games. Just bought a "Nintendo Switch" Oh boy is it good. 3) Get a light bar for my Hilux Ute. 4) Buy Tickets for the extreme Ghost Tour at Manly Quarantine Station. Sydney. 5) Get my 1968 Cotton Gin blue-prints framed. edited by Gilgandra on 2/2/2018 edited by Gilgandra on 2/2/2018
Update:
Have season 1 of "Rockford Files". Dad has it now Lol. I found a few keys issues i was after. posting them in my back issues thread. And i have started to re-post some pics in my thread/s. Got quite a few done. Just a odd couple to go. Using "Postimage" https://postimages.org/ now. Way cool site. easy & simple.
Looking to buy a light bar for my Ute. Oh! i have ticket for the extreme ghost tour at Q/S Sydney in a months time.

Nice, knocking things off your list! Always a good feeling especially when paying the rent is one of them.

Good some goals/hopes are happening for some! I was going to do what Ron suggested to me framing art first than other goals...New tires on car, a pacemaker put in, money gone for now! Darn it. Have started going thru some boxes and replacing the poly bags to 2mil Mylar and fullbacks. Doing so has been interesting for a few reasons. 1, Seeing books I didn’t remember buying, some were really good buys that now have doubled or more in value, not many but enough to make me think sometimes I actually know what I’m doing!😜 2, reading some books that I enjoyed the first time and rereading a full series for a day or two till done. One was the MAX Punisher series by Ennis, what a fun ride from issue one to 75. 3, finding junk book series I started using Previews catalog and ordering the first three issues before even reading first issue hoping the series will be good. Lots of Marvel book junk. So separated those into a junk box to be given away or thrown out thus giving me new room in boxes for new buys. Space is critical since I’ve run out of space to keep buying. So rent is paid, health bills monthly but saving for framing of original art, a goal I look forward to completing. SIDENOTE: Ron, enjoying your blog, fun writing and good topics. The latest staple problem is interesting, and yep, got a few staple popping out of my older DC books.
