1) Pay rent before any purchase
2) Find some more bronze age horrors.
3) I try not to add goals when it comes to comic books. I like to go on instinct. Chance it, Most times i come out on top.
4) Find a copy of "Superman: The Man of Steel # 17" second print ...Oh! just found one, By chance will post soon.
5) Find a few key issues i've been after.
6) Re-post all my pictures in my back issues thread. As photo bucket sucks dog balls (big hairy sweaty ones) it may take awhile for this to happen.
7) Keep posting on Tex's blog page that is where my latest post are. https://texscomicsnewsandreviews.blogspot.com.au/
8) Hope that some older CPG members come back. Unknown (Mitz), Bounty, Robbie (master collector himself) among many others. I miss you guys.
9) Finish "My Display Case". I have to go through a S*#% load of boxes to find those books that are worthy.
10) Buy a major book or many small books at "Supernova" Sydney this year. Going in blind, Wish me luck.

My Non-Comic goals for 2018.

1) Find a boxed set of "Rockford Files"

2) Get back into playing some games. Just bought a "Nintendo Switch" Oh boy is it good.
3) Get a light bar for my Hilux Ute.
4) Buy Tickets for the extreme Ghost Tour at Manly Quarantine Station. Sydney.
5) Get my 1968 Cotton Gin blue-prints framed.

Ha! If I remember correctly you were the biggest Buffy fan on here and didn’t you sell it all off years ago? I mean you were collecting everything Buffy even the extremely hard to find Buffy books and just stopped and sold off the collection? Am I wrong? Either way, good to hear you collecting the hardcovers.
I bought the trades from dark horse of Savage Sword of Conan years ago, just fun reading. Written well and the art was fantastic. Congratulations on completing two sets, that had to be enjoyable to do.

Bruce Jones, did he also write Twisted Tales series? Enjoyed that. Most of my magazines I bought and still own are of Conan. But own a sprinkling of Eerie, Creepy, and Vampirella. Magazine size is perfect for reading but the need of a magazine box to store them and finding a good place to store sucks for me. I end up using part of the boxes to store slabs instead of magazines.

I'm guessing that there are a lot of strange and wonderfully terrifying things in your collection. What is your favorite book? Story? Artist?

I dabble in 70's horror but just the DC and Marvel stuff. Mike Ploog fan as you can tell by my video and article.

When I read your #3 I laughed because I put off reading a title when I'm missing one. There can be 11 of the 12 issues and I won't read it.

#4 Conventions are funny things. My favorite conventions have toys, comics, original art, artists, and cosplay. I love talking to artists, watching them draw something and occasionally buying something. Cosplay just intrigues me. People make very specialized costumes, spending months to create something and then showing it off. very cool.

#7 Goal with your son and his first car. Good Parenting! I tinker with cars buy one and work on it for a month or two and then sell it. Nothing big. I'll buy a Miata with a bad top, replace the top for $130 bucks and sell it for $1000 more than I paid for it. Whatever you decide to buy with your son, find a car that has easy to source parts.

Jim, moving is the worst especially if you're moving long boxes up and down stairs. We are putting our house up for sale next week and I dread moving. I keep telling my wife. I want to move just once. No double move into an apartment and then into a house. Keep putting your comics in the small boxes instead of long boxes. I've been working on that goal for a while.

Comic chaff. Yeah, we all need to do that. There are books that look so interesting under the lights at the comic shop and then I get home and think why did I buy this?

• Get caught up on the reading backlog. (Actual bound books, not just comics!) I have so many books stacked up in various places. Fiction, history, science, music.
• Reduce the debt load. Buying comics doesn't help.
• Release new music. It's been 3+ years since my last release and I have loads of unfinished tracks and projects.
• Frame and hang a bunch of illustrated art I've collected. This will be dependent on what the eventual new place is like though.

HR, Can you play those 4K Blu-Rays on a normal Blu-Ray player or do i need another one?

As far as I know, no you can not play a 4K disk on a Blu-ray player or DVD player. Need a 4K tv, 4K player for it to work right. Having a 4K player will though play Blu-ray and dvd disks though. The player will as I understand it, will make a Blu-ray disk look better than just a Blu-ray player. Well there is plenty of articles out there explaining this, Google is your friend.
I will say there are movies out there that are made on 4K disks. But you know, not ever movie on 4K is worthy to buy. Be selective if buying them. If you want 4K movies but don’t have a 4K player yet, most movies come with a Blu-ray version with it, just like a Blu-ray movie comes with a dvd disk. Right now, there isn’t a very large selection of 4K movies yet, but that will be changing soon enough.

But since you bring up garbage pail kids cards, I can really understand completing that. Marvel X-Men cards and Spider-Man cards from the nineties I tried to complete all sets for my daughter. I was buying many boxes searching for chase cards and at the time comic stores near me had a lot of chase cards I needed. Buying boxes I ended up with extra basic sets(minus some chase cards) so I had sets for my daughter, her cousins and me too.
I really enjoyed opening packs with her and organizing them in the folders we bought to store them. Some cards of course explained when someone fought against a villain and what comic issue. So if my daughter was interested we’d hit the LCS and look for the back issues the cards listed.

Ok, I’ll bite on the non comic goals.

#1 Quit smoking. Smoked 10 packs a week, now 1 pack a week. Nasty habit, been smoking over 35 years. Live a more healthier life style.

#2. Get my telescope out at least once a month with my dad. Great bonding time with dad. He is 80, time/life is going by to fast. Fun deep thinking conversations while looking for objects

#3 buy more 4K Blu-ray’s...I’m hooked.

#4 don’t talk politics.

#5 save enough money to send my daughter a few months of her mortgage payments or car payments.

Your #6 is what I’m doing. I use photobucket but haven’t uploaded for a few years. Others have had problems, don’t understand why I haven’t had problems, strange.
I’m with you gilgaandra, I enjoyed Robbie’s collection and all of his wisdom he shared. Bounty missed, really cool person. And unknown(Mitz) I thought he got robbed of his collection, and just stopped coming around. Wasn’t mitz into 10c books?

Ox three years ago or so I was doing the same thing with paying off my three statues from them. Payment plans make it easy to jump in and buy from Sideshow. Hurts for awhile but man I’m so happy I bought mine and last year found space to display.

Batman 156 is one of the first carrying covers. I'm missing that one but not for long. I've been bidding on copies of that issue for a month now. soon. Its funny Tomb of Dracula has SEVEN carrying covers. They seem like victims instead of heroes though.

Harley and Poison Ivy by Timm? Dude, that needs to be displayed! Joker's Reckoning has that crazy angle that makes you stare at it. Very cool
