High grade Bunny. Nice pickup. Giant sized Harveys tend to be more beat up.
Is it just me, or have there been a lot of Harvey's on the market recently. Up to 3 years ago, I had never heard of Bunny but I am seeing her show up quite a bit on Ebay all of the sudden.
I have another Bunny along with that. Here it is:

Here are some books from the last 6 months which are all over the place in terms of publishers and topics. I'll start with some Westerns which I grabbed from an Ebay dealer I've known for a while. His grades for these books were a bit... generous at times, but I snagged them at terrific values, especially the Dale Evans at under $5

Next, we have a pair of Spirits and a hero from up North.

Finally, we have the last issue of Classics Illustrated which was only reprinted one time and I'll see if you can guess why....

This is a first print in FN+/VF- condition. My LCS dealer sold it to me during one of his sales and it is amazing to read. I had never even heard of it until he showed it to me.

I thought CI#169 only has one print because it is the last issue. We determine the printing by the HRN (Highest Reorder Number). If the HRN is the issue in hand, then it is a 1st. (It is a neat book, I have a NM one.)
I'm baffled that #53 - A Christmas Carol - only has 1 printing.
Cap Canuck has average stories with sub-par art and that not-quite-right 80s coloring. Not sure why I love 'em.

It may have only been one print. I am not a person who purchases Classics Illustrated, but this was one I couldn't turn down.
As for the Captain Canuck... I have heard about it for years and Overstreet had a big thing on it in the last guide. One of the guys I purchase stuff from on Ebay has sold a number of them and so when one came up at the right price, I grabbed it.
The production values reminds me of some of the First Comics, especially in the area of coloring. The story itself was fun and light, but I can't say I have a burning desire to track down any more copies of it.

Here are some more of the DC's I have grabbed. One of the big ones is going on a separate thread under grading comics.

Great to see Lex and his niece on the cover. Love the belt on Supergirl too.

These books have insane covers. I am sure the stories don't make a lick of sense, but that is all right.

Back when the timeline made sense...

I simply love the way the colors on the House of Mystery pop. These books are hard to find and the Zook cover is cool.

That's a great looking copy of House of Mystery. It's always awesome to see comics that old in that condition. It almost looks like it could be a recent comic in a retro style.

Nice books, the Strange Sports is only a 6 issue series if I remember right. I just picked #4 also. Your House of Mystery book looks pretty sharp, great colors as you said.

My twins and I saw it at a local con 6 months ago and were floored by it. They know I love the Martian Manhunter and the house we were looking to buy was going to have a section dedicated to the family's musical instruments and so we all agreed that it would look great on the wall there.
We bought the book but not that house. So it will go on the wall in my comics/man cave/collectibles room once it is finally set up.

Thanks a lot Kairi. Those Silver Age DC's are fun and quite affordable if you hit the right the auction.

Strange Sports was only 6 issues and the stories are crazy.
It's amazing that House of Mystery books aren't hotter than they are. You never see them for sale anywhere in any condition.

Thanks a lot Gil.
Her 1970's series is so much fun to read as is this run too in Adventure Comics but they are SO 1970's. She had Zatanna as a back up character in the first handful of issues and even Prez showed up in one of them.

I had mentioned in a "what's hot" about the romance books and how they look to be heating up. Here are some I have picked up over the last 6-9 months. Only one is a Marvel, but it is a beauty.

I picked it up with the Bunny. It went quite a bit more than what any of the guides have them at. It's a great book and the yellows are incredible.
The rest of the romance books are from an auction of high grade Harvey File copies. I managed to snag a handful.

More in the next post.

I love the Hi-Fi record player. Not as sleek as the kids' Ipods...
