Kottus was one of the Centimanes (or “Hundred-Handed”) conceived by Gaea and Uranus, who later exiled these monstrous children to Tartarus.
In modern times, Kottus was released from Tartarus by Loki and Typhon to conquer Olympus. This attracted the attention of Hercules and his allies, the Avengers, and Kottus apparently died, impaled on a spike while fighting the Vision.
