Little, if anything, was known of Javitz' past, but he said he'd been watching the X-Men pursue their cause for "years" before throwing himself in the fray. Of all the X-Men, he seemed particularly contemptuous of Cyclops, whom he tried to kill.
How he lost his left eye is not known. He died when Holocaust attacked Avalon, the home base of the Acolytes.
