The Great Captains of Krakoa was established by the Quiet Council of Krakoa for the purpose of advancing the interests of the nation's militarily. Each Captain of Krakoa is in charge of a specific jurisdiction. Captain Commander is considered the first among all Captains.
The four Great Captains of Krakoa and their jurisdictions are:
-Cyclops: Captain Commander and leader of the X-Men.
-Magik: Member of the New Mutants, acts in the Sextant being mostly in charge of squadrons formed by younger generations of mutants.
-Bishop: Member of the Marauders and the Hellfire Trading Company, acts as a defensor for the Hellfire Trading Company activities.
-Gorgon: Personal bodyguard for members of the Quiet Council of Krakoa.
