Alhazred, once a desert slave leader, was abandoned by his group and left to die. He found a mystic rock, got trapped in a dimensional realm, and merged with a reptilian creature. Escaping, he controlled new slaves to gather a crystal, but Tarzan intervened. Alhazred captured an African princess for sacrifice, but she and Tarzan escaped. Alhazred tracked them, fought pirates, and reached the jungle. Tarzan and the princess took revenge, and Alhazred summoned dinosaurs. The crystal drained his energy, turning him to ashes.

Later, Alhazred sought control of Madripoor’s criminal empire. Wolverine defeated his agents, but Alhazred kidnapped Tyger Tiger and Archie Corrigan. Wolverine resisted Alhazred’s demons, causing a psychic backlash that banished Alhazred to a demon realm.
