I'm interested in helping with adding missing issues/prices/cover scans/verifying data/variants..

You may know this already, since you've been a member since 2016, but you can add cover prices, cover scans and verify data without being an admin, if you want to, when logged in.

Cover scans have rules, this covers most: Get a good square-on scan, .jpg format preferred, cropped to the edges of the comic. If you can't, then find them on the net, with no watermarks, no signatures, no pro-graded ones, and try to make sure they're a published version, not a pre-production pic (like a Previews solicitation often is), as those get changed in production all the time. Best to resize them if you can to about 350-400px wide, but CPG can do that too. Issues with missing covers will have a link under the missing cover placeholder to submit the cover. comics/org is a good place to find covers ready to go, but they don't have everything either. there's multiple other database sites too, and google image searches too. Don't use poor phone camera or poor digital camera pics.

you can add missing issues IF the title is listed, but if CPG is missing the title, then you have to be an admin to add that to add missing issues. There's a 'REPORT MISSING ISSUE' link on the bottom of the right column in a title's listing for members to use.

Anyone can add missing variants too: Navigate to the specific book that is missing a variant. Select the 'Variants' tab found next to 'Values'.

You'll see a red box titled "Report Missing Variants" on the right side below any listed variants.
Clicking the box will bring up a page where you can upload the pic and enter information specific to the variant you are reporting (not all is required). This includes what it's called, price, artist, publication date, etc. This makes it much faster for the admins to process the request.

You can add missing cover prices (US dollar prices, not foreign prices if that's all that's on the cover, just skip those) by going to the issue and clicking the Add link under the Cover Price heading. It will get put on the Verify Data page for others to confirm (same with covers, dates, creator info, etc), and you can verify other people's submissions there too, just not your own. It's helpful to finish off a whole series that's missing some or all cover prices too, vs just doing 1 or 2 issues that you happen to own, if you have the time or want to do it in chunks if there's a lot missing. https://comicspriceguide.com/verify-data
If you make a mistake, you can remove the mistake by clicking the trash can edit on the right on your submission on the verify page, then click confirm. then you can reload the page to yup or nope again, or go back to the comic listing and resubmit the price/date/creators etc. with the right info. if you yupped/noped wrong, click on the green or red 'points' link next to the submitter's name and a box will come up allowing you to cancel your vote, then you can reload and do it again.

if you want to do more than that, then yeah, you have to be an admin, and provide some credentials of your comics experience, and you won't be allowed to do some things until you get some time in and all goes well. that will speed up approvals of your submissions though, and allow you to do more corrections etc than a regular member. good luck!

I did know that. I remembered a few days ago. What else is involved to be an admin?

We aren't currently looking for new admins. As people move on, I'll update this and ask again.
Thanks anyway,
Ron
