I recently bought a 9.8 cgc graded comic online. I recieved it and notice a small spine break in color. Its right above bottom staple. Now my question is ...is that possible on a 9.8

now I am fairly new to the graded comics too....cant be too cautious as well as its tough just reading the grading descriptions.

The 2014 Overstreet Guide to Grading Comics only allows stress lines on grades 9.4 and below. Staple tears are allowed in 9.0 and below. I can't speak to the "scam" part of what you believe but your stress line is not even subtle...You should email or call CGC for confirmation of their standards. A new guide is coming soon.

Well...i wasnt sure if its possible to get the cases open without damage and sealed again ...i had messaged the seller about it right away and they offered a refund. I wanted to get advice on the grading since im fresh in that area. So i should just get the refund then

Thanks for letting us know. Sometimes I check the reports and have no idea why the post was reported and it takes me a while to figure out that someone's finger just slipped.

It is weird that the comic is graded 9.8 with that stress line.

Indeed^^^i talked to cgc and they asked me to send the comic in to be reviewed. They said if its graded less than 9.8 they will find me a 9.8 to replace it. All i know is cgc has been hell legit about this.
