Looking for a jumbo size comic with closeup of Superman smiling and waving -multiple stories, including legion of superheroes and a story of a boy who can become a monster at will
Probably between 1976 -1982
Thanks

I'll toss a hat in the ring...

This one? https://comicspriceguide.com/titles/action-comics/443/pjssjy

There are also a few 'Superman' issues that are Giant sized where he is looking at the reader - Examples:
https://comicspriceguide.com/titles/superman/183/xhsso
https://comicspriceguide.com/titles/superman/193/xhxyj
https://comicspriceguide.com/titles/superman/217/xnwul

I expect these are not the one you're looking for but if nothing else you got me going back and enjoying all those weird Superman covers from back then. They were great, so thanks for that!

Thanks Claydwilli but no none of those are what I remember
I wish I could remember but it was some sort of special issue like a Dc annual or Action comic special edition
I’m pretty confident it wasn’t a Superman issue…

when you say 'jumbo' size, do you mean thickness, or treasury size (10x13")?
is Beast Boy the boy who can become a monster at will you're thinking of, later known as Changeling?
possibly this one (treasury size)?: https://comicspriceguide.com/titles/limited-collectors-edition/C-52_treasury-size/piwyhx

That’s it!
For some reason though I thought one of the stories was with Legion of Superheroes, but that is definitely it
I owned it as a boy but later when my mother moved several comics went “ missing”- I am relieved that it wasn’t a substantial collectors edition!!
Thanks so much- how did you find it?

long story, took a while. figured if it was a treasury size I'd find one of those series with a cover that mostly matched your descrip. It has the Legion in it as part of the Last Days of Superman story. Details on https://www.comics.org/issue/68963/

I'll waive the usual tree-fiddy research fee since you're new here smile

thanks all. sometimes I amaze myself too smile
it took much longer to find/figure out the possible issue than it may sound like, but glad that was the one, cuz I was getting tired of going thru search results. I should get paid for this stuff....
