I just registered with website. I'm trying to upload a cover that scanned in at 642mb which is too big (500mb limit). In order to reduce the size, I imported from the scanner into Picasa. That produces a .bmp file that CPG doesn't recognize. I used an online bmp>jpg conversion app that reduced the file to 632kb. Now, CPG won't load the cover - I get a failed message. Any ideas? I've attached the 632kb file fyi. Thanks. (I should add that I signed up for the Bronze/free membership - is that why, maybe?).

Still ng.

Settings changed in Canon LIDE: Resolution = 75 dpi, JPEG image quality = low.

Then, in Picasa settings: File size = 92kb, Dimensions = 556 x 762 pixels, JPEG Quality = 69 (411), x resolution = 75, y resolution = 75.

I didn't think they accept scans with that kind of damage on the cover.

Are you on a PC?

If so, download Irfanfiew for free. Download the program, then download the plugins exe file to get full function for the program.
It will crop, resize, rotate, convert.... Whatever you want. You can even make a screensaver. Heck, it'll even play MP3 &
OGG files.

No program has been used by me more in the past 23 years.

Thanks. I'll check out www.irfanview.com. As for the scan uploads, I think I read you can scan your cover in and display either the stock scan or your scan for purposes of your collection alone - you can then show any prospective buyer what the cover actually looks like. Anyway, I did nothing different, and all of a sudden it started working. I guess it could be that I had to go from Bronze to Silver once I hit the 50 comic limit so maybe that had something to do with it after all.

Edited: I just tested a pretty ragged cover and it went up ok. Thanks again.

Ca2fl2011, you have to be a silver or gold member to be able to upload your scans to your collection or for sale.
